CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2013-2017 Nissan Sentra has an expensive CVT transmission failure defect that shows up plainly in our complaint data from the earlier model years in this same 7th generation Sentra.
Because many owners commonly drive 20,000 miles/year or more, Sentra owners experiencing CVT transmission problems may find they are not covered by this settlement due to the mileage limitation.
The car has run pretty well since 2015 up to 40,129 miles, at about 37.5 mpg. Only problems were the air bag light is on at all times and Nissan dealer says its out of warranty and there are no recalls, and the air conditioner was not cooling at about 38,500 miles, also Nissan dealer said it was out of warranty and their fix was a new compressor for more than $600, fixed it with $140 replacing the valve that controls refrigerant flow inside the compressor. Nissan says that they only replace compressor, as stated above.
