CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2013-2017 Nissan Sentra has an expensive CVT transmission failure defect that shows up plainly in our complaint data from the earlier model years in this same 7th generation Sentra.

In late 2019, the CVT defect was subject to a class action settlement. However the settlement only covers transmission repairs up to 7 years after purchase or 84,000 miles (whichever occurs first).

Because many owners commonly drive 20,000 miles/year or more, Sentra owners experiencing CVT transmission problems may find they are not covered by this settlement due to the mileage limitation.

I have this problem after 3 month since I bought brand new. I have made many complaints but Nissan Canada is like deaf.

customer care ----0/10. Nissan engineer fail. Seat belt problem. Rust problem. Transmission problem. Every month in dealership with same complaint. After all I have sent the Court Notice after 2 years harassment by Nissan Canada.

Update from Mar 25, 2018: Burning oil complaints also should be added.

. car didn't recognized the key

Meanwhile I'm facing the situation the dealers passing the ball thru each other. My car wont start because didn't recognized the key in the car. It is the second time the very first time just took like a few minutes the second time was like 20 and the only solution the dealer people give me was to keep running the car and if happened again to call them and bring the car in....but what about if the car wont start at all? We are talking about a car which going to cost me 16,000 dollars to paid and can't be driving without worry that will happen again. Nice and beautiful car but all this fancy and sophisticate technology for nothing just to a headache. It is an actual problem between technology and engine situation on hand. I considerate any problems knowing about the car should be tell to the buyers and make them aware about that instead of hiding the truth. Salesmen please do not rush to sales and get commission on a car provide good customer service and you will be very successful in your job because we need a trustful people and willing to help us with our car problems. Any feed back will be appreciate.
