CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2013-2017 Nissan Sentra has an expensive CVT transmission failure defect that shows up plainly in our complaint data.

In late 2019, the CVT defect was subject to a class action settlement. However the settlement only covers transmission repairs up to 7 years after purchase or 84,000 miles (whichever occurs first).

Because many owners commonly drive 20,000 miles/year or more, Sentra owners experiencing CVT transmission problems may find they are not covered by this settlement due to the mileage limitation.

The car stops suddenly and try to start many times and don't start. I check the spark plugs and the computer send the signal to fire the spark plugs. I start to suspect of the fuel pump for the kind of failure, later was confirmed for the mechanic. This bad quality control of Nissan makes me spent 760 dollars to replace the fuel pump. This makes me ANGRY!!! It only has 19700 miles ...this is my wife car she is still paying it ... I have other cars, one has 134000 other 180000 miles and one with 320000 and I never had any troubles with fuel pump. Those cars are other brands not Nissan

I start to understand that Nissan uses very cheap parts for its cars because 4 weeks ago I have to replace the front brake pads for my wife car because was completely worn out with less than 20000 miles ..... to my Scion I change the original brake pads at 50000 miles and they still had a lot of pad....
