CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2013-2017 Nissan Sentra has an expensive CVT transmission failure defect that shows up plainly in our complaint data.

In late 2019, the CVT defect was subject to a class action settlement. However the settlement only covers transmission repairs up to 7 years after purchase or 84,000 miles (whichever occurs first).

Because many owners commonly drive 20,000 miles/year or more, Sentra owners experiencing CVT transmission problems may find they are not covered by this settlement due to the mileage limitation.

Nissan has this extended warranty for the Evap Emission System Vent Tube. HOWEVER, it only works if the vent tube is clogged. Guess What? It is impossible for the vent tube to get clogged because we are talking RAW VAPOR here. Nissan Dealer who fixed my car, says they never saw one clogged, and Tires Plus / Firestone, agrees, they never saw one clogged. I would like to start a class action lawsuit. If you are in favor, reply if you also had same issue, and had to pay out of pocket, as vent tube was leaking or cracked, but NOT clogged.

Update from Nov 7, 2019: It seems Nissan is scamming us again. Had to pay for this fix out of my own pocket. More issues coming in my next complaints.
