Recall: Extra Zinc On Battery Terminals - Apparently Nissan got a little zinc happy with the coating on their battery terminals for the Sentra. This extra thick layer can cause a sudden drop in battery voltage while driving down the road, potentially stalling and making it impossible to restart the engine. Who knew zinc could be so mean?
PURCHASE THIS USED CAR & SPEND $1300 WITH IN ONE YEAR. WILL NOT BUY NISSAN SENTRA AGAIN. AS THIS CAR HAS RECALL IN 2013 FOR STARTING ISSUE, I CALLED NISSAN TO FIX BUT THEY REFUSE & NOW WE HAVE TO PAY FROM OUR POCKET.
I PURCHASE 2 NISSAN SENTRA (2009/2010) BUT PROBLEM IS IN 2010 CAR.
So I bought my car in to a small dealership, in September 2014 and it started stalling in November 2014. They haven't been able to fix it. Took it to a mechanic. They changed the choke sensor and another one that I can remember the name at this time. And it still won't start. The mechanic when all in and flushed out and cleaned the injectors, changed the fuel pump checked the computer and everything seems fine. He took out the complete motor to check all sensors and valves and yet my car won't start. I have payed $300 so far. They can't seem to find the problem. What is wrong with it?
Purchased Sentra on August 31st 2010. Car has been in to Nissan for service on 9 separate occasions for a total of 7 weeks of the three months I've owned the vehicle. All the service work has been related to on-going electrical problems. My problems include the Nav system, bluetooth, satellite radio, engine, lights, and fuel economy.
I reported that I wanted the vehicle replaced under the Lemon Law in early October and have still not been able to get Nissan to agree to refund me the purchase price of the car. Nissan announced a recall for the problems I'm having in mid-November.
When I first discovered the problem, I called the dealership and they informed me that there was a known issue with right battery cable and just to tighten it. Well, I had my husband tighten it, but then it happened again. This time no matter how tight the cable was turned the car would not turn on. Finally, we did get it to start by jiggling the cable. Then recently I was out shopping and was alone at the time, and car again would not start. My husband had his brother drive him to me and we did get it started. Today I took the car to the dealer ship and I was assured that they had fixed the problem. Well, I drove home and then had to go back out to the market and car would not start again. I had just left the dealership. I researched on line, and discovered that the recall parts are not supposed to reach the dealership until 11/29/2010. What do I do in the mean time? I do not feel safe driving this car.
