It takes 3 turn overs to start this car. Just about every time. The dealership said there wasn't anything wrong with the car it was the operator.

I have 2 other people I know that has the same vehicle that I do. Same year and make and they have the same problem to.

Sentra Special Edition 1.8L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 100,000 miles

I bought my Sentra 2010 I just paid it off about 7 months ago after 4 years of car payments. I knew that once I got it paid off things were going to go wrong but I see that many people are having the same problem. I wish Nissan would recall it and fix it. I love my car and I have seen lots of Nissan just keep moving with minimal problems. I would like to see mine keep going until the engine is done. I have tried very hard to maintain my vehicle since its my first. I do not have the money to just keep going out and buying new cars when I feel like it. Otherwise I would have no problem doing so. I have updated spark plugs, fuel pump and filter, and brand new battery because one day it did have a hard start, it didn't start at all. This did not fix the hard starting issue but still starts.

Sentra 1.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 74,000 miles

I was having this problem every time the weather would warm up. I would have to crank it twice before it finally turned over. Took it to two mechanics. Couldn't figure it out. Finally went to a new local mechanic (who doesn't rely on a computer) and they found an oil leak that was dripping on the cell that controls the start mechanism. But, I'm not sure if it's totally fixed. I love my little Sentra and it never lets me down in bad weather, but when I tried starting it after a brief run around town at lunch time, I had to crank it once more before it turned over again. Something is definitely not right and I believe Nissan should check into it. Especially if you have little ones in the car and the weather is bad, and suddenly, mom and kids are "stuck" somewhere.

Sentra Special Edition 1.8L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 71,000 miles

Sometimes the car starts fine and then other times it keeps cranking like its getting no fuel. I believe I am not the only 2006 Sentra owner with the same problem and other people should be reporting this problem. Most likely its a fuel pump problem that Nissan would not like to deal with because of of cost. Basically this has been a great car but Nissan shold step up to the plate and fix the problem. Sorry Nissan but at this point I may consider another car and I really would hate to that because your service at the dealer level has always been Excellent. Thanks for your great service at North Olmsted Ohio Nissan.
