2005 Nissan Sentra 1.8......In the AM my car will start then die, I have to crank it 5-6 times and then it will idle between 1500-2000 RPM's, I can not drive it, it will not let me give it gas and I can not go over 2000 RPM's, once my car is warmed up (arrow in middle between C and H, takes 15 mins or so) it will drive ok. The engine light came on and when scanned it says P3040, camshaft sensor. I replaced it, it got a little better where I only have to crank it 2-3 times before the rough idle. I did a tune-up, changed plugs, oil, oil filter, air filter, cleaned the mass airflow sensor. Still it is showing cam sensor, I changed another one (for free, got a replacement in case it was faulty) still no change.....any ideas?

After having the head gasket replaced in March of 2010, I was driving down the road when my car suddenly stalled out. I really didn't want to have it towed, so I waited about 5 minutes, and luckily it started up again. Then this happened three more times in one trip. It didn't happen again for about another month and a half. Then it started happening every day, when I was on the way to important places, like a meeting or class. I am now having the crank sensor replaced, which isn't an extremely expensive fix (about $130.) However, so far this year, I have dumped about $1300 into repairing this car.

The 2005 Nissan Sentra is the WORST car I have ever had. THE WORST. I don't trust it when I drive it, and it actually makes me nervous putting the key into the ignition. I never know if it's going to start, or if it's going to take three or four tries.

My only advice to everyone out there is NEVER BUY A NISSAN!!!!!!!!!!!
