Sentra Limited 1.6L V4

  • Automatic transmission

Got the car for free and knew work needed to be done. Had to brush up on my car know-how and realized a good five months in that I had been riding on three cylinders as cylinder 4 was not firing. Shortly afterwards, it started to fluctuate between 2 and 3 cylinders which would occasionally cause a stall. We replaced injector 4 ourselves in November 2011 and it began to run smooth for the first time, but then injector 3 started to misfire. I had planned on finding time to replace that one, but at the beginning of January 2012 the car started but then violently stalled with a squeal in the Goodwill parking lot. We brought this in to the auto center across the street and had the work done on it. Found out we'd gotten a faulty injector, and it blew the o-ring causing the stall, so Autozone gave us another for free. This discounted my auto shop's work by about $200. After injectors 3 and 4 were running smooth, 1 and 2 began to spike high, so three months later I had to have them replaced as well. Since I did not do all four at once, I wound up spending way more than I should have, yet I had no choice as it was and still is my only car.
