I fell in love with the beautiful red paint color of this new 2017 Nissan Rogue! Now I'm a bit sick to my stomach and not so in love. I sold my 2010 Fiat to get my Nissan Rogue. Note my 2010 Fiat didn't have one chip in my paint and I drive my Rogue on the same roads....none gravel roads! I started noticing the chips after having my car for 6 months! The first chips I saw I told myself maybe I was behind something without realizing and got those chips. As I monitor the chips the front hood portion they are increasing each month. After taking my first 2,000 mile road trip I noticed more! I first reported this to Nissan as I approach 10,000 miles I'm currently at 12,000. I don't drive my car much.
I won't bore anyone with the crazy conversations I have had with regional managers, service, and the Nissan paint expert. I'm being told from Nissan the reason for my chips is because I driving on gravel roads! I also have taken my chipped paint concerns to independent paint shops. None will put anything in writing however I'm told my hood (where the chips are happening) is showing a "dry effect" meaning it was repainted during production and not cured properly. So here I sit with my major investment chipping away down to the metal.
Any tips from anyone?
