This is my first, and last, CVT transmission. It's like a long rubber band between the engine and transmission. The attempt to make it feel like a regular automatic with "shift Points" is pathetic. From a stop, if you put down the throttle to about half throttle and hold it there, the engine will rise and fall in rpm all over the place, often doing something different than the previous time. One time it goes directly into high revs in the equivalent of a lower gear, next time it'll rev a bit then bog right down in rpms, presumably in a higher gear.
When I hit the gas, I expect the engine revs to get up there and the transmission to shift down and get the damn car going.
