I leased this SUV on December 5th, 2017. After a week of driving it I noticed a whirling howling noise coming from what seems to me as the drivetrain. It only happens when the gas engine is on and not when the batteries a powering the vehicle. I literally hate this noise and so I asked to get it repaired at the local Nissan Dealership. The first time it was acknowledged and the exhaust manifold was changed. As soon as I picked up my vehicle after this fix, I called to say the whirling howling sound is still there and they didn't fix it. I have brought my SUV in a few times and saw a Nissan specialist at the Dealership. Now, all the service folks acknowledge the sound it makes but I am being told that it is within normal parameters for this vehicle.
I am 64 years old and have driven new and old cars. Not a one of them made howling and whirling sounds. I even asked to drive a brand new one to see if it was normal. So the dealership arranged that. The new one did not make the howling or whirling sound.
I have purchased or leased a total of 4 Nissan's in my life time and this is the only one with an unacceptable sound every time I drive it. Nissan would not replace it or give me back my money. I will no longer ever purchase a Nissan and am waiting to return it when my lease is over. Even my passengers are able to hear this Whirling and Howling sound but Nissan will not do anything about this.
Also, I have now heard that Nissan is not offering a 2018 Rogue Hybrid. I wonder why?
So unhappy that I must put up with this for 36 months since I can't sell this car without losing about $11K.
