The vehicle was taken to Safelite Auto Glass where the window was being replaced. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was advised to call the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 13,000.
The contact owns a 2021 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was distortion on the front windshield. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer and the dealer replaced the windshield on two separate occasions; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and sent a field technician to inspect the vehicle at the dealer. The field technician recommended that the front windshield be replaced with an after-market windshield from another auto glass company. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 500.
