I bought a used, 1 year old, 2018 Nissan Rogue, at a Florida Honda dealership in March of 2019. Since I have owned this vehicle it has slammed on the breaks several times, while driving anywhere from 50-80 mph, for no apparent reason. Just in the last week it has slammed on the breaks 2X for no reason. Luckily no one was close to the back end of my car or they would have hit me. I do not feel safe driving this car. I have read many reports recently that this seems to be a major issue with this car yet Nissan will not do a recall on it. I will own this lemon for 6 years if nothing is done about it.

I was pulling into my garage a few days ago and the emergency brake system engaged. There was absolutely nothing in front of me when this happened. Again today, I was driving down the city road going approximately 25 mph and the car it happened again. The warning flashed, car beeped and just stopped for no reason at all. Nothing in front and thankfully no cars behind me. This is extremely dangerous and scary! thank goodness I was not in an accident due to this issue.

Abrupt automatic unwarranted braking occurred in two incidents while travelling on boulevard. Weather was clear, there were no vehicles in front (and fortunately none behind) when the automatic braking system engaged. Did not bring vehicle to complete stop but the brakes were automatically applied and abrupt slowing down of vehicle occurred. This braking system did work properly in at least two other conditions - ie driving into interior home garage. Unexpected automatic emergency braking while driving with no obvious obstacles (ie vehicles, road debris) is dangerous.

While the vehicle was in motion driving straight at approximately 30 miles per hour, at 7:52am on university blvd at highway 75, the automatic emergency braking system engaged for no reason causing the vehicles brakes to inappropriately engage. This was a failure of the automatic emergency braking system due to the random nature and the fact there was no hazard or condition requiring the automatic emergency braking to become engaged. This is not the first time this has happened and at least one previous safety complaint has been entered. This failure of the automatic emergency braking system do cause the vehicle to stop and is a very serious safety concern.

Faulty aeb. Warning flashes on dashboard constantly. Sensor has been replaced twice and problem still persists. I also had an instance where my car came to almost a complete stop. Most times, I'm driving on the highway going approximately 50-60 mph with no cars around, no fog. Light will start blinking then stop. Then start blinking again.

Automatic front braking (afb) system continues to inappropriately engage even after recall updates were completed at a Nissan dealership. When driving the car will, without justification (ie there are no obsticals in front of car) automatically apply the breaks. After the update it happened to me while driving in the rain, my toddler was in the car, luckily I did not lose control of the car. This is a known issue and Nissan has failed to correct it. Nissan said afb cannot be permanently disabled and said it is now driver's responsibility to manually turn it off each time the car is started.

My car would disruptively break in its own, when I first bought this car, the safety system break light stayed on, St the time I didn't know what that was nor did anybody was able to explain, I took it in to find out there was damage wires and electrical issues and. Dead rat, the brakes also squeaked unusually at times, they also mentioned this was normal and brakes were new, with a lot of complaints and mis informed information I ended up being stuck buying this car, I would consider this a lemon issue but the head department of enterprise where I bought the car took car and reinsured uit was all good to go and fixed, I also bought extra warranty, but shortly after down the road I have had unusual experiences with my car braking in traffic and then releasing very disruptively which had even caused me to lose handle along with my new born, various of times I had concerns U til one day I was slowing down at a light the car brakes very disruptively the car behind me a mother in her prius with her two children slammed into my car, this brake system is not safe. It's causing more issues and hazard accidents then safety.. I am very very sadly in happy customer as I don't feel safe to drive and again this needs to be a recall and I want out of this car Z

At random times the 'automatic emergency braking' system automatically slams on brakes. The vehicle was being driven at about 35-40 mph on a city/county road. We were driving straight, it was dark with no street lights and no other cars or objects on the road. It slams on the bakes so fast that the car almost dies and turns off. Nissan recently sent us a letter telling us to come in for an 'update'. this is serious safety issue and will likely cause an accident. This issue has happened to us at least 4 times in the last 6 months.

On the street we use to leave our neighborhood, there is one section of the cement that is a little taller than the one before it.intermittently, the automatic breaking will be set off in this spot for no reason. It is alarming! we are also worried it will happen on a busy street and cause an accident.

The automatic emergency braking system has malfunction many times - at least 10 times in the last year of ownership being January 2018 through November 2019. The most recent specific incident occurred on November 22, 2019 at 12:20pm in clear daylight while driving on paved road, city street, not turning. The rate of speed was approximately 15mph and caused the vehicle to immediately stop. This is very concerning due to the high possibility of serious injury if the malfunction were to occur at a high rate of speed.

While driving on a sunny day on a city street my car suddenly slammed on the brakes while driving under a highway overpass. It did this on it's own in clear weather while in motion. It appeared the car reacted on it's own to the shadow of the highway I was about to drive under. There was no car in front of me and I in fact was about to accelerate to make a left turn after going under the overpass. The car brakes suddenly when going into the shadow of the overpass. It startled me and my automatic reaction was to switch my foot to the brake and when I did I could feel the brake was already depressed all the way to the floor. The car briefly stopped and then the brake let up and I then could continue driving a couple seconds later. It was scary and dangerous. Someone could've been behind me and hit me. I was rattled for 30 minutes afterward. I am unsure of the exact date this occurred but I gave the best estimate I could down below.

My vehicle's emergency braking system activates while driving when there are no other cars in front of my vehicle. The warning sound will alarm and then the brakes are applied at full force, which causes the vehicle to come to a screeching halt. I have taken my vehicle to the dealership three times (part was replaced once, system has been reprogrammed twice), and the issue is still ongoing.

Vehicle suddenly slammed on brakes by itself, and the car shook violently. (I believe the ABS system activated itself for no apparent reason). Driving approximately 40 mph. Daytime. Clear weather. No traffic around. No obstacles on roadway. Very scary and dangerous. The electronics on this car, in general, are highly unreliable.

While driving my car, highway or side streets, I get a number of different warning lights, all dealing with my tires and braking system. I took my car to the dealership, and was told there is a recall on the ABS. I check my car in for repairs, waited, left and supposing everything was back to normal just to get on the road the next day and get the exact same problem. Took it direct to the dealership, just to find out all they did was just reprogrammed my car to get the lights off. At this point and time, the ser vice department was closed, so I returned the next day, waited for 4 hours just to find out 'it's going to cost me $300-500 and 2 hours ' to repair but they don't have the part. All of this started on Saturday 11/09/2019.
