Just to advise you all, at 40,399, the car was driving and was not shifting for some odd reason. It felt as if it was not shifting from second to third gear. Knowing my knowledge of transmissions, I knew this was a defective solenoid. I took it directly to the dealer and told them to run for codes and do not turn off the car. I mentioned the problem to them a few days before and they said they saw nothing. They put it in the scanner and they came back and said you're right. The shift solenoid did fail and it will probably mean replacing the transmission which will take almost a week.
After they worked on it, I took a look at the service work done and it appears there is a TSB for this problem on the CVT transmissions up to the 2017 year. It involves rebuilding the entire transmission and keeps the original shell in place. Definitely not good for a 3+ year old car and this car was driven delicately and never reached 4K RPM. Luckily this was covered under factory warranty but be warned for those of you with the 2017.5 model as that is what I have.
