Noticed a whining sound coming from my vehicle the morning of this incident. Didn't think much of it.
While driving home from work, I was at a light and proceeded to turn left, when all of a sudden I had loss of acceleration. I had to pull the vehicle over and shut it off. The vehicle restarted and idles, but when placed into drive and press on the gas it would slightly move forward and then stall out. I ended up having to have the car towed home.
The next day, the car would then go into drive and proceeded to make a knocking sound. I took the car to the dealer, which is where it currently is, but they cannot pull any codes from the vehicle, it is not replicating what it did to me. However, they can hear the whining noise. They did update the TCM. They have video of the whining noise, which I am having them send to Nissan. I was told it would be hard to get the CVT replaced under warranty when they are not able to pull any codes from my vehicle, yet they can hear something is wrong.
I am not feeling safe driving this car at all. What if it stalls again on the freeway with my kids in the car?
