Vehicle was purchased new in April of 2018. Three months in, we were no longer able to control the function that allows no outside air into the cabin. This means that the front windshield is constantly fogged on cold mornings, throughout the day and at night (especially on rainy days). On warm days, the cabin smells like mildew because the air is constantly flowing in. Not to mention the exhaust smell that enters the cabin. This happens all the time now. We've come to learn that no matter what mode the system is left on; face, feet, face/feet, etc. (except defroster mode), the system is always locked/stuck now. The button that stays locked is the one that allows outside air into the cabin (picture named control panel) and the only way to turn this function off is by physically pressing the auto, then mode, then inside air buttons on the control panel. There have been a few times that it actually stays locked and cannot be taken off.

The contact owns a 2017 Nissan Rogue. While the vehicle was merging onto the highway, it suddenly stalled and did not immediatly restart. The vehicle was later taken to hill Nissan(6401 cypress gardens blvd, winter haven, fl 33884) where it was diagnosed that the front sensor was faulty and needed to be replaced. The sensor was replaced. Later, while driving onto a freeway, the failure recurred and the vehicle stalled. The vehicle could not be restarted and was towed back to the dealer. While at the dealer, the failure could not be duplicated and the cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The failure mileage was 25,000. The VIN was unknown.

I was driving my 2017 Nissan Rogue on a routine trip from my home to my office. I was turning through a residential intersection when my car shut off without warning mid-acceleration. I would estimate I was going no more than 5-7mph as I accelerated from the stop sign into 25 mph. Because I was going up a slight incline, I was able to put it into neutral and coast backwards out of the intersection. I contacted aaa and waited for them to run their battery tests. After ruling out battery issues, I had it towed to a local mechanic who encouraged me to take it to Nissan due to a computer malfunction. The mechanic informed that what happened should never happen. Nissan put it through their own tests to determine what exactly happened with the computer. They later found that a wire had been rubbing against a bolt. The wire was the wire that connects the computer to the engine. As explained to me: The wires of the car are all bundled together and inside of a "protective" tube. The tube was rubbing against the bolt, then opened up, exposing the wires. The wire that happened to be the one that continued to be in contact with the bolt was the wire that then shorted the computer and turned the engine off. They ensured me that there was nothing that I did that caused this but they were unsure why the wires/tube was in the location that it was. It was a little over 1,000 miles outside of the warranty (my car had 37,300 miles on it) and refused to do anything about it. I attempted contact with Nissan North America multiple times, the first woman eventually told me there was nothing they could do as it was out of warranty. When I asked to speak to her supervisor, she never returned my calls.

The contact owns a 2017 Nissan Rogue. While driving approximately 50 mph, the sensor in the front bumper engaged and locked the brakes, causing the vehicle to slow down. The "system lock-down" indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to ted russell Nissan (865-223-6744, located at 8565 kingston pike, knoxville, tn 37919) where the sensors were replaced, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and offered to pay 50 percent of the repair costs. The vehicle was repaired, but the contact stated that the safety issue was not addressed. The failure mileage was approximately 35,000. The VIN was not provided.

While driving down the highway the power dropped to the car. The rpms dropped down to almost zero, the power to the radio and fan motor stopped as well. I went from 65 miles per hour to 35 miles per hour in a matter of seconds. Thankfully I was not hit by another car. The second issue is that the engine feels like it might stall upon start after sitting all day. This has happened multiple times. The third issue is that the bluetooth radio system has a whistling sound when trying to use this and be safe while driving. The fourth issue is that the interior back door pulls to close the door both pop out and cannot be pushed back into place. The vehicle has been away from me for a significant amount of time so Nissan can try and make repairs. Consumer Affairs told us that simply there was no fix for the bluetooth issue and that the back door pulls was a design flaw from the manufacturer.

I experienced my car accelerating when not on the gas. I wasn't sure if it was my imagination but it's happened several times. I went out to start my car a few weeks ago and my key wouldn't turn. A red key appeared in the dashboard flashing. It took several minutes before the key eventually turned. This only lasted a day. Fast forward to now my car keeps stalling. I took it by an auto zone, I was told it was my alternator. Well I just purchased this car new last year. It's only a year old. This morning, it gave me the same issue. I go to turn the car on drive out the lot and it keeps stalling. No indicators in the dashboard are indicating anything is wrong. I'm afraid something is seriously wrong and do not feel comfortable driving it. I just dropped it off at the dealership where I purchased it. Per the staff, everything is normal. I'm now awaiting a diagnostic check.

While on city streets, trying to come to a stop I applied the breaks and nothing happened, I then had to let off the pedal and reapply pressure to bring the car to a stop. I took the car into a Nissan dealership and they refused to look at the car because I have had it in to have the breaks, engine hesitation, extended engine crank, and an A/C problem fixed 6 times in 5 months. Nissan has a tsb out for an electrical problem that has them reset the computer but it does not fix any issues. Nissan told me to get the problems to stop I need to cycle the key. When I asked what that meant they said to stop the car, put it in park, turn the car off, and turn it back on. I said even if it happens when I am driving at 70 mph on the highway? they said yes.

2017-Nissan Rogue sport; driving on hwy 41, the Rogue loses power/power failure and almost comes to a complete stop. The Rogue then comes back up and continues up hwy 41. The rear stop lights did not come on when the power went down. I was on a 5 lane hwy and could have been hit from behind. Also, would not have been able to get out of the car since I was in the middle lane. In speaking with the dealerships, this appears to be a known issue. I took it to autonation Nissan they kept it for two days. When I picked the Rogue up from their call, it did not and has not driven the same; I explained this to the tech. When he test drove it with us, he gunned it going up a hill, the engine just raced, the car did nothing. He immediately turned to a downhill rd and took the car back tot the dealership. This is a major safety issue which I've been through this before with Nissan. Everyone at the dealerships wants to say and talk about electrical issues, first thing the check. I spoke with a person at the dealership that advised they do what Nissan tells them to do. So it appears the safety issue continues, Nissan has the reset the computer to new settings and the problems and safety issue in our opinion is never addressed. I now have a 2017 Rogue sport with safety issues and sounds like an old car on its last leg after the dealership is done with it. Its time Nissan steps up to the plate and fixes the problem.

When you cross over railroad tracks that have overhead electrical power; ie. Commuter rail tracks in urban / Suburban markets; the front end collision camera thinks you are about to have a "front end" collision, even though there are no objects in front of you. The SUV will stop dead in its tracks and the stall out. When first reported to Nissan in early December, 2017 they stated that I was only the 4th case nationally to report this & the first the dallas, tx general market area. After much discussion, they pulled my vehicle in mid-January and provided a rental car. They claimed there was a software glitch that has only been reported in the same make, model & year as my SUV. They believe the front end camera is not properly insulated from the over head electrical magnetic field generated by overhead power lines on the rail tracks. My SUV has stalled out twice at the same rail crossing. Last week I was informed there were over 40 cases nationally reported and about 5 cases in the dallas market, including fort worth. They further stated that several vehicles are more "occurrences" than mine. Neither the dealership or Nissan themselves will not communicate any opinions in writing to me. This is my open case #[xxx], [xxx]. you may contact Nissan at 1-800 Nissan-1, #7. my number is [xxx],or [xxx] I have not had the use of my vehicle for almost 50 days. In my opinion Nissan has been both vague & evasive with their response and course of action. In addition, they are not sure if this problem at all. My concern is; "if Nissan can not validate the problem; how can they validate the fix and will it work"? information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

The factory spare tire was installed as reult of a flat lf tire. Upon driving to the car dealership on dry highway, to repair flat, the cars AWD lock initiated by itself at 50 mph causing the drive system to overheat within a couple minutes. Steering felt like all wheel drive was active along with a light growling noise. Dash alarms came on indicating 'high temperature, stop vehicle'. I stopped, AWD lock indicator goes off along with high temperature alarm. Resumed driving to dealership and 1minute later the problem repated exactly the same again. Resumed driving again, problem repeats two more times resulting in 4 total stops on the interstate highway before an exit. Nissan dealer analysis states that when reaching 50 mph with spare tire in use will happen and is not defined as a valid defect or problem. I believe this creates safety hazards from stopping, change in steering handling and potential of major components failure possibly fire of overheating.

Nissan Rogue sport 2017 with 2K miles. Car has issues starting. Engine will turn over a couple times before starting. On 11.29.2017, car stalled at a stop sign and engine completely turned off. It took two tries for the car to start up again. Brought to Nissan reno immediately. Nissan reno called on 11.30.2017 stating the dx test came back without any negative results. Nissan stated that the car started fine for them and test drove it. Check engine light it not on. Extremely concerned as this is a major safety concern. What if I was on the freeway or major hwy and the engine would just turn off? I don't feel comfortable driving my brand new car that I've only owned for one month. This issue, if occurs again can cause injury to myself or another individual.
