Rogue

  • CVT transmission

I wan to like this car but after 19,000 gentle miles in makes a noise when the steering wheel is fully turn towards the left. If it had hydraulic steering the fix would be to add some fluid.

Looking through the complaints there does not seem to be anything quite like it.

Have not had CVT problems yet but from what I have heard it may be a matter of time.

Rogue SL

  • CVT transmission
  • 621 miles

Loud clicking and clacking noises when I turn the wheels an slow speeds. Took it to the dealership 6 times and they replaced more and more parts each time with no resolution. Trying to find enough people to file a class action lawsuit with Nissan Canada. It is ridiculous that they charge that much money on a very defective car.

I have driven cars for 12 long years and do know when the car does not feel the way it was before and with a fair amount of experience one can easily identify obvious issues in a car. During start of Dec 2016 i first observed when i was backing out my car from a parking lot the there were noises (cracking ) followed by vibration on the floor. I sat there and spent few mins and found that turning the steering wheel left to right was making the noise (even while the car was in a stationary position and vehicle running). NISSAN Kirkland branch took the appointment after i explained the issue along with my vehicle veering off to the right (alignment) and replaced ( after a week ) the struts mentioning it was a known issue.

The same problem returned and took it back and explained it to everyone along with the alignment issue which wasn't fixed. Finally i gave up as they said that " I HAD TO LIVE WITH IT AND WAIT UNTIL THE ISSUE GETS WORSE" so that they can fix it. On top of it they did not fix the alignment issue and my vehicle still keeps veering to the right (Although i mentioned i am willing to spend to fix )

I do know the pain of getting such work done back in India as well through the dealership though things are different at least the work will be done as per satisfaction as no one wishes to revisit service center every now and then.

This experience not only made me realize an expensive car like Rouge could be bad, also the Service people could be MEAN while they do not know how to fix an issue. Not to mention the service people SHOT in the DARK changed the STRUTS while the issue was not the struts but was somewhere else.

I later found that while the tire pressure was at 30 PSI and with Icy weather this sound seems to be prominent, as the surrounding temperature rises the noise and vibrations goes away. but I get the feeling that the wheels would fall off when this issue revisits.
