Rouge had recall work on airbag sensor done in 2016. However over the past month or so, the off indicator for the passenger airbag has been lit when a passenger of 130 lbs has been in the set at least 4 different times. Once the off indicator light went off after 1/4 mile of driving. The other times, I had to stop the vehicle after driving for longer distances, turn it off and restart to get the off indicator to go off. Once the passenger had to get out of vehicle while I turned the vehicle off and restarted in order for light to go off when they sat back down. Took to Nissan dealer and they could not duplicate the problem so they released the vehicle. I do not trust the airbag to deploy when needed so I am looking to trade the vehicle in order to protect my passenger.....which does nothing to protect anyone in the future who rides in this vehicle. I am not sure of what the airbag recall last year accomplished or why Nissan is ignoring the complaints since the recall when the recall stated the OCS sensor may be faulty on 3.2 million vehicles. Evidently the OCS sensor is still faulty but the dealer expects me to drive it like this.

Issue with the front passenger seat on a 2015 Nissan Rogue. The issue is that a full-size adult (150 and 240 pounds) can be in the seat the passenger airbag indicator indicates the front passenger airbag is off. There is no airbag warning light on the dash. I've taken it to the Nissan dealership several times and the computer and airbag system has been flashed, but did not fix the problem. Since then the dealship has pushed me off, even with photos and evidence of this happening. I have threaten them with a lawsuit because they will not look further in to it, if the airbag does not deploy when a full-size adult is in the seat. I will be taking the vehicle to a different dealership this week, because this issue is continue to happen. I am currently an pursuing an electrical engineering degree at the university of South Carolina and will continue to use their resources to I find someone who will resolve the issue. The only resolution for this issue, when it happens, is to park the car and turn it off, let it sit, and turn the car back on to see if the airbag light is on or not. The car has currently 43,068 miles and is still under warranty. Also all recalls and maintenance is completed at a Nissan dealership. I've also had issues with seat belt light in the dash says that someone is un-buckled while everyone in the vehicle is actually bucckled, and has been buckled.

The air bag light sometimes says on showing it is off even with my wife seating in the passenger seat. It does not happen all the time but every so often. The recall has been done on it but still happens every once in a while. I have had it at two different dealers but they could not find anything wrong. It has been reprogrammed three times to check it out and always checks out ok. My wife weights 170 pounds so it is not a weight problem. One dealer says that is working fine and when it happens just shut car down and restart. What about the times we may not notice that it is on and have an accident and have no air bag protection is what I told him and no answer from him. Another dealer just said it checks out ok and nothing else we can do. I called another dealer which said that the air bags are set for 160 pounds per the nhsta regulations so we are too close to the limit. I called Nissan customer service and got someone who said you have to take it back to the dealer to have it checked again. I will do it but it will check out ok as always. My daughter has a 2014 Nissan rouge sv and it has also happened to her too. When we notice the light on most of the time it was always in motion but also right after she sat in the seat before we started driving and then still stayed on when we drove away. From what I read on line their is lots of people with the same problem they cant seem to get fixed by the dealer or Nissan themselves not helping them either. It started about the middle of 2015 and dealers would not do anything about it until the recall came out. We now have 39000 miles and todays date of 05/9/2017 and still have the problem.

The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that the air bag off warning indicator illuminated while the seat was being occupied. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was serviced per NHTSA campaign number: 16V244000 (air bags), but the failure recurred. In addition, when the front driver and passenger side windows were rolled up or down, the windows hesitated to operate and an abnormal clicking sound emitted from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the window regulators needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 19,000.

NHTSA recall 16V-244. We took our vehicle in to have the occupant classification system software reprogrammed. Since the reprogramming, the OCS light has come on while a passenger is in the seat. We took our vehicle back to the dealership on March 3 2017 to correct the problem. We were told Nissan is aware of the problem and suggests to latch the belt before starting the vehicle. If the light comes on, restart the vehicle to turn the light out. Nissan says no new correction available at this time. The dealership service department said Nissan probably will not do anything until there is a serious accident or death. The service writer also said the problem is in the light and that the air bag will deploy. Why should consumers have to initiate a quick fix by buckling seat belts before starting and having to restart if the light does not go out. How are consumers to believe that maybe the air bag will deploy. This is a very serious situation that Nissan seems unwilling to resolve long turn.

I was involved in a car accident with $12,863 worth of damaged to the front of my car. Driver air bag did not go off..I hit the sterring wheel so hard that I fractured a rib and a swollen chest inside and out..about 8 months after I bought it there was a recall on the passenger side air bag but I am thinking that the driver side should be checked as well. I was going thru a green light on a city street and a lady ran the red light coming from the other way. I braked and laid on the horn when I saw her coming out and swerved my car but couldn't avoid her. First it was a no fault but then she was proven to go thru the red light. Lucky I had my seatbelt on but that didn't even stop me from hitting the steering wheel hard!!

Beginning in July I began having issues with the airbag light it was off when it should be on and on when it should be off it has been to the dealership on multiple occasions and multiple sources have looked at it but continue to blame myself and family. I have pictorial evidence to show people sitting in the seat in the airbag is off and pictorial evidence showing that the airbag should be on. It's been "repaired" multiple times to no success.

Passenger air bag light comes on either while driving with passenger in front seat. She is 5'4" & 200lbs. I have brought it back to the dealer 4 times, & last time they had it for 6 days & could nor replicate the problem. On a 1500 mile trip to fl from MA, it happened 4 times, & once with me in the passenger seat (I am 5'6" & 260 lbs) dealer will not replace sensors or computer until it sees the error. What do I do drive an unsafe vehicle" I am due to return to MA this Sunday, does my wife sit in the rear seat" this has happened at least 25 times in the last 3 months.

Although this issue is identified for certain 2015 Rogues, mine is not among them, however I am experiencing the following: The front seat passenger occupant classification system light in the dash is lit up whether or not an occupant is in the passenger seat. It started to come on intermittently when the seat was occupied and empty and now it stays on continuously once the engine is started.
