Rogue SV 2.5L V4

Well, I bought my Nissan Rogue as new with 11 miles driven. (I am assuming it was used for test driving)

I notice that it happen on the driver side when I was waiting on the light I would feel a hard idle and would shake the passenger door. I basically ignored it until I went in for my oil change (btw universal city nissan takes 2 hours to do a 15 min oil change). I let them know the situation and they said they would tighten the bolts.

Here comes the fun part. As I drove it more and more, I noticed that the driver seat was also shaking a lot. I myself tightened the bolts and noticed that the seat was jumping up and down. I let Universal City Nissan about it and told me to "you should buy a new one" as I am shocked about that reply how you letting me drive with a messed up chair.

Now, fast-forward 6 months before the pandemic started, the chair broke. So I took it off the car and saw that the gear was not soldered in properly. And now today I still drive my Rogue with a broke chair as I look at ebay to replace. I was on warranty when I let Nissan know about this and they did nothing. Wait - they did - they told me to buy a new one.

Now I found this site by searching for my seat. And sadly enough I see its a common thing. It is a cheap assembly.

Rogue S

  • Automatic transmission
  • 3,500 miles

I first started noticing the noise about three months into my purchase. It started as just a small squeak that I heard maybe once a day. Then as time went on, the noise got louder and happened more often, one day I was braking, going downhill, and my seat moved forward a bit. In July I took my car into the dealership in my town.

They had my car for 1.5 days and pretty much told me that since I am girl I just didn't get the seat locked into position all the way and that was the issue. I tried to explain that it couldn't be the issue because; 1. I hadn't moved the seat since I got it months prior, so why would it suddenly start now and 2. my husband also drove it, and he had the same issue and tried to rock the seat back an forth to make sure it was locked into place and it was. They wouldn't listen. So the next week I took my car to the dealership 20 miles away. They had my car for long enough to change the oil and take it for a test drive. They told me they heard the noise but couldn't do anything about it. They said it was a known issue and all Rogues are like that, something about the way the seat tracks are made for the Rogues.

I say BS! At no point with a brand new car, 1. should it make noises to the point that everyone in the car can hear it, 2. should the seat move when driving? To me this is a safety hazard and Nissan needs to step up and resolve it. Now almost a year into my purchase the seat is super loud, you can hear it over the radio and still moves occasionally when braking.

This is my first Nissan purchase and will be my last. I'm just counting down the days until I can trade it in for a safer vehicle.

Rogue SV AWD

  • CVT transmission
  • 1,954 miles

Since I bought my Rogue the drivers seat has had a small noise when I accelerated and decelerated and when the vehicle was corning into a sharp corner. The noise has and movement / clunking sound and has only begun to get worse. I took it to the dealer twice in one week and they said the first time they couldn't get it to reproduce the sound. I showed them in person and they said oh now we hear and see it.

On the second visit they confirmed they could reproduce the sound but there is no known problem or fix. They told me they called Nissan and Nissan knew of no such problems with the seats. The dealer told me they checked other Rogue's on the lot and their seats did the same thing which I think is not true. This seat clunks and moves and is defiantly a annoyance every time I drive the car and gives me buyers remorse for even getting a Nissan. For me to only have paid one car payment the seat is defective from the beginning only irritates me more to know I have 3 more years left with this POS and the dealer and Nissan will not do anything.

I hope some other owners may have read this and if they have the same problem complain to Nissan. This is not a quality made SUV. they are more concerned about the number of cars they sell and not the quality built into them.
