I have a 2014 Nissan Rogue. I had the same problem 2 years into owning the car but on the passenger side that was under warranty and was fixed, at that time I believe they said a cracked manifold from the air conditioner was cracked. I am no longer under warranty and I find my driver side soaked when I go and clean my car. Any suggestions on how to fix and what it could be.
Google search shows that Nissan is aware of this factory defect/water leak since 2014. Hundreds of complaints posted and even threats of class action lawsuits. Nissan and Dealer point fingers at each other instead of fixing the problem. There is even a recall bulletin ID # 15V032000 posted on-line. This is a serious potential Electrical Fire Hazard as well as a potential Health Hazard due to the mold and mildew.
Update from May 23, 2020: Problem was fixed after numerous emails to Nissan CEO and Board of Directors.........however, the leak came back this year. Nissan needs to issue a recall for all of the customers that are suffering form leakage problems and the potential fire hazards that this could cause!
Found carpet wet by A Pillar on both driver and passenger side. ONLY in floor depression (the way the car was designed), but is very wet (40 paper towels, 5 towels rung out ten times each, and floor is still sopping wet). Nissan has a TSB on it, but no recall. If they know it is an issue, why aren't they made to fix it?
Update from Mar 14, 2018: After taking to Auto Body shop, and them removing the seats, rugs, and foam underneath the carpet, they discovered that the water (1/2" deep on the floor) had come from the firewall. Either a seal (over the firewall weld) was not applied properly, or not applied at all. This was allowing water to enter the passenger compartment from around the gas pedal all the way to the rear seats. Contacting Nissan to see if they will cover since this is obviously either a design or build problem.
I found water sitting in the area underneath the Driver's Side Seat of my Brand New Rogue, apparently a "Factory Synthetic Weld" had been missed and was allowing water to enter the car through the Firewall and travel along the Firewall past the Accelerator Pedal and into the void underneath the Driver's Side Seat.
This caused mold to start to grow along with the seat having to be removed to dry the carpet out. From what I can determine this is a problem that is prevalent with the New Re-Designed Rogue.
This vehicle has been leaking since the day it came off of the Assembly Line - Nice!
