When this first started it was intermittent. You would be driving and let off the gas for any reason and then go to put the accelerator back down and you have nothing. Will let off the accelerator and then tried again and it would be fine. Over the course of a couple hours this got exponentially worse. If you turn a corner and start up the hill you almost have 0 acceleration. Several times I would come to a stop light and when the light will turn green I would have zero acceleration. You could put your foot on the gas pedal and put it all the way to the floor it would take 3 to 5 seconds and then would very slowly start accelerating.
I've done a little bit of research on this problem today. Most of the forums I have read place the blame for this on the stop light switch or brake light switch. Several people attribute almost every symptom I'm having to this problem. They have said to take it into the dealership they run a code and wallah! If this was just a random incident it would be one thing. But whereas this seems to be fairly well known and widespread, why is this not something that is being checked on and paid for by Nissan?
I am going to see if I can just change out the stop light switch myself and see if it fixes the problem. I will let you know. But I still say with deep conviction that this kind of thing should be covered under your warranty.! I have been sitting here reading through my warranty coverage and its just as bad as trying to read a bank loan application. Where they mark your coverage, I have the gold preferred 60 month 100,000 miles. But it doesn't tell me anything about what the coverage covers?! So if anyone reading this, if anybody does this, lol, please feel free to email me and I will meet @ gmail.com with your suggestions or assistance. Let me know if you have had to deal with this yourself and how you dealt with it.
Waiting with hope.
