Complaining for over a year that there is a very loud clanging noise for approx 3 km after starting in cold weather (sounds like a diesel). Reported it 4 times at the dealership. The last time, I went in the vehicle with mechanic for test ride when vehicle was cold. He stated he had experienced rhe same problem more than once for the same powertrain but it is not repairable. Stated it was a problem with the timing chain tentioner. Stated that Nissan is aware of the problem and have designed that part of the powertrain differently in newer models to correct the problem. For the vehicles with the problem, they have refused to have the problem fixed under warranty.

I called Nissan Service center directly and talked to a lady called Desiree, She stated that Nissan will not repair the peoblem because the delership has not isolated the problem. If that is not a spin, I don't know what is. I will keep "haaraassing" the dealership until I get solution.

If not, I will wait until the weather warms up and the problem subsides and trade it in, I guarantee you, it won't be for another Nissan. Screw me once shame on you, screw me twice shame on me. There won't be a second time

the engine has a loud noise when starting up. metal sound

When starting the engine, it makes a loud noise. Sounds like metal grinding. Dealership said they could not hear it. But after taking the manager for a drive he heard the sound. I am told it is just the timing chain. And Nissan will not fixed the problem. I have to live with it. The car is still under warranty but that is not doing any good. It is embarrassing to start my car. People turn and look at me because it is so loud.
