We travel to orlando which is a 3 hour drive we go 4 times a year and the Rogue fails on us at least 4 times every trip. After an hour on the highway are vehicle struggles to accelerate we go from 80 to 60 and car feels like it struggles with the pedel to the floor. Also when the ac is on and we are at a light the car trys to stall. And the airbags are defective the airbag on the passenger side doesn't recognize anyone in the seat and the one on the dash just blinks. I'm afraid they won't deploy if in an accident. First and last nissian will ever buy. The loss of acceleration I think is a death waiting to happen big hazard. We have this vehicle for three years and same problem from day one

While going down the highway at 75 mph all of a sudden it starts to decrease speed. This has happen a couple of times. I would like to know what Nissan is going to do about this since there are several people that has had this very same complaint. Something needs to be done about it. There needs to be a recall on this since there are so many people complaining about this. Why doesn't Nissan want to stand behind their product. I love my Rogue. I would like this problem dealt worth in a timely manner please. I imagine everyone would.

We have a 2010 Nissan rouge that will be driving fine then all of a sudden it starts decelerating to less than 70 mph on a busy interstate. Even trying to push the gas pedal all the way down does not do anything. We purchased this Nissan for our child to drive to college because we thought it would be safe. We have major concerns about this happening every time it is driven on the interstate. Does not have this problem when driven just locally. It only has 65K miles on it. Thought Nissan's were supposed to last forever and be safe. Don't feel safe sending my child to college in it anymore because this is happening so frequently.

This is the 2nd transmission that we have had in this vehicle and it started giving us issues right around the same mileage. I have contacted Nissan and they will not provide any coverage. What happens is that when we are driving on longer, freeway trips the car will begin to deccelerate. Once this happens it will not accelerate past 40mph. This is happening on major interstates with speed limits of 70 mph or more. There is no warning that this is going to happen. All of a sudden the rpms drop shortly followed by the speed. Even pressing the accelerator down to the floor will not give the vehicle any more speed. This is very hazardous, especially when travelling in hilly areas as the car can and does slow down to 20 mph without the ability to accelerate. Often times this happens in the middle of nowhere so we are forced to drive at dangerously slow speeds until we can find a place to safely pull over. This has happened to us many times, often when passing another vehicle in the left lane. It has also happened at night and since we are not braking there is not indicator to the traffic around us that we are slowing down so quickly. It always happens on family vacations so we have 2 young children in the vehicle with us. It tends to happen more often in hot temperatures but it has happened when the temperature was around 25 degrees F. it has always happened on the freeway while in motion. As I said it has happened a number of times but most recently over spring break. It also happened many times with the 1st transmission which was replaced under warranty at 87000 miles. The new transmission has about 75000 miles on it but I am being told that since the mileage on the car is over 120000 miles that the cvt is no longer covered even thought it only has 75000 miles on it.

Shortly after I took this off a lot in 2012, I experienced a deceleration on the highway. I live in Arizona, so traveling from phoenix to flagstaff is at an incline at phoenix is roughly 3000 feet above sea level and flagstaff is 7000. The incline happens just over 140 miles, so it's quite a climb. The car losses all acceleration ability on each and every incline, forcing me to find a shoulder (if I can), where I have to shut the car off for about five minutes before trying again. Magically, the car regains some acceleration, but it quickly happens again. This is especially dangerous due the the cliff edges or rock walls that line this road. When I come to a almost sudden stop on this two lane highway when I just went around a blind corner, that means that I don't have time to alert the cars behind me that I am at a complete stop. I have had many close encounters like this. I have tried to ask the dealers, mechanics and talk forums on the situation. Though many people have experienced this very problem, nobody seems to know what's going on. I have resorted to drive it in the city and take an old, but much more reliable Subaru forester on these trips instead. This Nissan has been a thorn in my side since I purchased it, but I seem to be stuck with it. I have tried to clean the mass air flow sensor, but it didn't help at all. The all wheel drive can't even make it up an icy incline. I hate this car.

The car developed a problem where the transmission was slipping and I noticed fluid leaking. Took to dealer, and I had additional coverage for repairs and break down. They told me the enclosed transmission developed a leak due to corrosion. That corrosion damage is not covered, and it cost $400 to remove the part rather than replace it. The car has a grinding vibrating sound when driving. The cvt is known to have this issue, and the transmission is sealed so you can't check your fluid level and it is required to only use Nissan manufactured transmission fluid. The cvt is tied into a fail safe mode that can be activated by high temperature in the engine. A cooling kit has been recommended but I have read mixed posts as to the dealerships charging to put it into the car. The car has been known to totally lose power while driving if it goes into this fail safe mode or when the cvt just fails completely. Warranty was extended to 10yrs/120000 miles for cvt.

The contact owns a 2010 Nissan rouge. While driving approximately 75 mph, the vehicle speed suddenly decreased to 55 mph. At 55 mph. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who was unable to diagnose the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 71,000. Straight out the lot 13 miles on it when I purchased it. About 6 months after I purchased my 2010 rouge, it started to make noises when I would go over a dip or a small bump on the road (30,000 miles or so). The noise sounds like something is loose. I took it in 2-3 times to Nissan they said they couldn't replicate the problem. It also started making a vibrating noise when I would be idling at a stop sign or traffic light. The vibrating sound I was told was due to the throttle being dirty. I had that cleaned and a few months later it stated doing again. My rouge now has over 100,000 miles on it and it it started loosing power and it is not accelerating on the highway. I was on my way to dallas and my rouge wouldn't speed up, I was driving like 78 mph and then decelerates to 55 mph, this is very dangerous. This is the third time that it has happened, pretty scary stuff. I had to pull over on the next exit and check out my car. Once I tried to get on the road again my car refused to move it was acting like it was going to turn off, sort off like when you make an abrupt stop and it jerks. It took of very slowly and then after a few minutes it was back to normal.

This has happened numerous times. While driving on the highway, car will lose power. We press the gas pedal all the way to the floor and car decelerates; there is absolutely no power. The last incident occurred August 8. we were driving at about 80mph; we started up a hill and the car completely lost power; speed went down to about 40 mph. Finally regained speed on flat stretch of road but every time we hit a slight incline we would lose power. Part of the time we were on a two lane hi-way and cars were backing up behind us. Then, after going along with no problems for a period of time we pulled of at an exit. After stopping at a stop sign when we tried to move gas pedal went to the ground and car did not move-then it lurched suddenly and accelerated. Later in the drive-on a flat ground going 80 mph car lurched and decelerated --as I said, this has happened before; this last incident was most frustrating as we were on a long road trip and feeling very unsafe.

The vehicle repeatedly lost speed, decelerating when going uphill. It went from 70mph to less than 20mph. Pressing the gas pedal all the way down provided no response from the vehicle. Nissan is refusing to acknowledge that there is a problem with this car model. A few individual posted video of their problem as you can see below https://www.youtube.com/watch"V=aqoxng8ofkm https://www.youtube.com/watch"V=gg_zf1eo0pw

2nd complaint of repeated issue, subsequent occurrence. 2010 Nissan Rogue lost power and decelerated from 70 mph to approximately 40 mph while traveling on highway, hazards applied however vehicles approaching had to change lanes. On this occurrence a vehicle check engine light appeared. Pulled off road and when accelerator was depressed engine revved to approximately 2500 RPM with no forward motion then lurched forward rapidly accelerating then lost power again before returning to normal operation. Note that Nissan dealership acknowledges that this is a known issue, instructed that the cvt transmission warranty has been extended to 120K miles and to bring to dealership. Nissan states this is the result of transmission overheating and causing the vehicle to enter safety (also known as limp) mode.

While driving on the highway, up bridges and hills. The car does not accelerate. Stays at 2rpm even while pedal is pressed all the way. Vehicle cant pass 70 mph on long drives and RPM stays at 2rpm. The car starts slowing down to almost 50 mph for longer periods of time. Then when off the highway to see the issue the car does not accelerate properly. Turning off the car and let it rest for 10 min is the only solution. But 30 min back in the road same problem occurs. This is dangerous and not safe. I read many forums and also the Nissan titans are having this problem. I need serious help. Stopped at auto zone to read the check engine and the transmission and speed control codes came up. The 1st time in 4 years the check engine light comes on. So obviously it's getting worse.

Driving to the beach, about two hours in on the interstate going 70+, I noticed the car lagged after I stopped on an exit when I tried to accelerate at the light. Didn't think much of it and went on to get food. Then another hour later I felt my speed suddenly dropping. I was going 80 on cruise control and then dropped down to 70, even though I was pushing the accelerator to the floor. Luckily I had time to pull over to an exit, I waited about 15 mins and the car seemed fine. About another 45 minutes later, I was driving and trying to merge on 1-95, the ramp is a big curve so I had to slow down to about 40 mph, when I went to accelerate to merge, the car would not accelerate. A tractor trailer almost slammed into the back but luckily I pulled off the road just in time. But the place I had to pull over was unsafe and made it difficult to merge on the interstate safely, but I had no choice of where to pull over because I was just trying to not get hit. This car is extremely unsafe and now my parents worry about my safety anytime I need to travel in this car for over 2 hours.

My 2010 Nissan Rogue stopped accelerating properly on a highway. I could not properly merge into traffic. Very scary!!! I made it home and thought it was a fluke. It then began stalling periodically, and the acceleration issue continued. We needed a new transmission at 78K! flags forward 46K more miles on replaced transmission, ...the problem reappeared and was worse! Nissan won't replace this one and was very rude, unprofessional and won't semi the problem and serious safety issue. This was my third Nissan, but my other two were muranos and never had an issue. My experience here was so scary and so disappointing with Nissan dismissal of this serious issue that we will never buy another and will tell all our friends and family too. You should not buy from Nissan as they do not stand behind their products!

While driving on the interstate at 75 mph on a hot day 90 degrees. I was using max A/C. car was fine and suddenly felt sluggish and wouldn't accelerate. I pulled off at next available exit, after a complete stop the car refused to move then suddenly accelerated slowly similar to when an abrupt brake is applies and car moves very slowly (extremely dangerous condition all the rouges have) I shut off the A/C and let car rest for 5 minutes then got back on the highway, although feeling sluggish I arrived at my destination. On my ride home several hours later I did not use A/C and outside temps had dropped to mid 70, the car appeared fine. I will note that this problem also occurred 2 years earlier in the summer of 2013 at 87,000 miles during another long highway trip driving in high temps. In this case I cancelled trip and brought car to the dealer after cool down period, the problem didn't present itself, no dash lights or codes same as previous. The dealer charged me $1800 to change dirty transmission fluid. Problem is back again at 112,000 miles. There is a serious problem with these cars that is "dangerous". had I needed to come to an abrupt stop on the highway I would not be able to move out of the way and as a separate issue when you abruptly brake the car can't get out of it's own way and has scared me several times.

I bought this 2010 Nissan rougue 5 months back from carmax, lexington, ky. I travel frequently from lexington, ky to cary, nc and New York, NY every quarter. I used my son car Camry and rental cars( chevvy, Ford, Toyota and Nissan ultima), but never faced this problem. The problem is when once on highway I set the vehicle in cruise control for 72 mph, suddenly when the highway elevation starts to go up, the cruise control is dropped and the vehicle starts speed starts to slide up to 30...the elast it dropped is 29 mph, evwn while you are pressing accelerator ( infact it is floored ). then I stopped using cruise control, but for every elevation the problem persists, thias continues till I stopped getting high altitudes. Around lexington, ky where ever I go I hit mountains, so I started facing this problem, when ever I hit us 64 E, us 77N or S and us 75 N or S........yesterday my self, my wife and my daughter are coming home from New York to lexington, the problem started once it hits mountains and continues till weschester, ky whivh is 20 miles from lexington, ky. The drive of 12 hours, took absolutely 22 hrs with break for every 3 hrs ( break of 20 to 25 mts), other than breaks just imagine on highway the vehicle starts to drop the speed and what happens with vehicles behind you, even highly loaded trucks crossed us and drove comfortably.......it is a serious dangerous problem with Nissan rougue...to be rectified or fixing the problem. The same routes I drove in different vehicle as mentioned above even Nissan utima as rental car, no issues, but for this vehicle. Then online I found that mine is not the first or last vehicle, there are more Nissan Rogues like this. We need justice from the Nissan usa.

While the vehicle is setrup on cruise for 70 miles, suddenly the cruise coast was shoiu off and vehicle start going down, even while we press accelarator, no response. The accelerator was completly floored, but the vehicle slowed down till it reaches 35 mph. I stopped the vehicle on the side of highway and shutoff the vehicle for 15 mts and re started. It performed normally till high elevation came and then started the same issue, this time with out cruise control on. Like this it went on till I reach Pennsylvania state. This hsppend while I am traveling from lexington, ky to New York NY. It happened again while coming back, once I crossed Pennsylvania and reached us 68 Maryland and continued till I reach us 64 till weschester. This time me, my wife and my daughter are pannicked for every two or three hours and took break for 20 mts for every three hours. The total 12 hrs travell took 20 hrs for us to reach lexington, ky. 2010 Nissan rougue is only 5 months old, I bought it from carmax, lexington, ky. This I observed on highways and while going in elevations, if that is the case from lexington where ever I travel is always high elevations. Please give justice to us.

I was driving 80 mph with traffic on a heavily congested hwy - I-4 when the transmission stopped working. There had been a high pitched whine during the last hour of travel and the car just started decelerating. Air temperature outside was approx. 80 degrees. There was a smell possibly of leaking fluid. Took to dealer and there is a known transmission problem on Nissan vehicles with the cvt transmission causing them to overheat, etc. This should be a recall, not an extended warranty issue. This vehicle is 4 years old and should not have transmission failures. I was stuck on a highway in the middle of nowhere and it took 2 hours to get to a dealer which was one and a half hours away from home.
