I acquired a 2010 Nissan Rogue sl AWD, with low mileage, in October 2019. In early October 2020 about 20 miles outside of Washington, DC traveling from nc the vehicle began to violently shake. Of course this unnerved me. I stopped twice to visually and manually check the tire air pressure using a pressure gauge. No problem with the pressure. Once in DC I went to a service station/mechanic shop in Maryland and had the mechanic check the problem. He checked the tire pressure and filled all tires with an additional 5 pounds of air (from 35 to 40) and stated that the wobbling would likely not cause any serious problem but the additional air should cured. The added air seemed to have worked. Within a couple of days I was back on the highway headed South. I realized the problem had not gone away. I determined that at low city speeds the problem did not present itself. The problem surfaces when at higher highway speeds, mostly when the brake is engaged. Since being back in concord, nc I have had my vehicle place on a lift, at a non-dealer shop, and checked. The mechanic drove my vehicle and could not find any other issues. He suggested that I purchase four new tires, citing that although there is still sufficient tread the tires may have an internal issue. I spoke to another mechanic who suggested that a 'tie rod' may be the problem. On Thursday, November 12, 2020 I had plans to purchase new tires. After seeing the wsoc news of similar experiences of others, I will first take my vehicle to a Nissan dealer for evaluation and documentation. At this time I don't have any documentation to submit.

I parked the car on Friday evening on street, caught fire on Sunday morning, neighborhood called firefighters and firefighters did their job but I didn't know anything about it. My house was couple of blocks away. I saw my burned car on Monday afternoon. Burned steering wheel area, brake area and dashboard. I collected fire incidents report from fdny and it mentioned heat source was electrical arcing and other. I had to move the car because it was on the street.

I took the car to the dealership I purchased the car from because there were winning noises coming from the left side in the engine/transmission compartment. In addition to cut and unsealed wires under the dash and in the fuse box, as well as a stuck caliper (that they replaced for my convenience according to the service manager). The car has been in the dealer for a total of 2 weeks in the 1 month I have own the car and they have only fixed the caliper. My concern with the cut and unsealed wires is that lights (parking brake and battery) in the dash turn on while I am driving and it has turned off on me when coming to a stop. It happened to my wife (with my newborn in the car) when she was driving the car in the highway, she came to a stop because of traffic and the car turned off on her creating an unsafe environment for both my newborn and child. The response from the dealer was "we are unable to duplicate the failure, the computer doesn't show any codes" yet it happens to me frequently.

When I apply the brakes, the car sometimes just shuts down completely and turns off. I have been able to then put the car in park, and restart it. It has happened when I have slowed the car down to go over speed bumps, when I stopped at a stop sign or red light. It also happened on a highway on-ramp. Nissan has not been able to fix it.

Significant vibration in steering wheel when brakes are applied at high speed. Wobbling and car shakes.. brought the car in for service and was told that both the front and back rotors had to be resufaced. The car only has 24,000 miles, so we are concerned that such a relatively low mileage car had this problem. After servicing the car, the problem still exists, but has been reduced. We note that Nissan has had many recalls for rotor problems, but on other models. We feel the Rogue needs to be examined as well.
