The contact owns new aftermarket monroe/tenneco front wheel struts, part number: 72609/72608. The struts were purchased from advance auto (4240 miller rd, columbus, ga 31909) and placed in a 2009 Nissan Rogue by the contact's husband. The vehicle was taken to a dealer (headquarter Nissan, 1725 whittlesey rd, columbus, ga 31904, 706-225-8100) for maintenance work and the dealer indicated that the struts had fractured due to stress. The struts were two inches longer than the manufacturer's struts. The dealer also stated that the tow alignment was off and the control arm failed due to the fractured struts. The struts were not original equipment. The manufacturer was notified and informed the contact that they were not original parts. The failure mileage was approximately 106,532.
