A D V E R T I S E M E N T S

On 6/13/2015 I purchased a new set of Firestone affinity touring P225/60R17 98H tires from Firestone complete auto care store and while driving home I noticed a bumping noise. When I arrived home I noticed a large blister popping out from the bead rim area.I notified Firestone month day year were there any deaths or injuries" yes no was there a fire:yesno property damage:yesnoabout the defect and they replaced the tire however I noticed on my receipt they wrote the wrong dot plug information down on two of the tires one being the bad one. I contacted Firestone to find out what was wrong with the tire and they said it was from an imp 1057 characters remaining for descriptionact. I know that this is totally untrue since I worked in the industry for over 20 years. It was a manufacturing defect that ripped the bead and not my fault. The tire was so bad that if I had an impact that bad it would have effected both the front and rear as well as damaging the rim.I had my local mechanic check it and he confirmed what I said and was amaised I made it home without blowing out. Even though it was a defect they never offered any compensation that I was lucky nor replaced the other tire with the wrong dot plug.I F needed I have several pictures to prove my case. Also what is the likleyhood of getting two tires with the wrong dates" I think they forgot to change the plug when they should have and they got out in the field. I have tried since June to see what they could do for me compensation wise like a new set of tires but the rep I spoke to did nothing so I told him my next resort was to report this incident to your Agency and pay whatever fines applicable. Thanks for your time and consideratiom with this matter.

The contact owns a 2008 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that the tire pressure sensor light had illuminated for an extended period of time. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who reset the tire pressure sensor and stated that the tires were set at the correct pressure but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to an authorized dealer who stated that the contact was not included in NHTSA campaign id number: 09V393000 (tires). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. My family barely avoided a serious accident. While traveling from san antonio to austin, the driver's side front tire "exploded" (have some photos to show the damage). The vehicle is a 2008 Nissan Rogue, regular maintenance provided, and there was no construction on the road way. The tire "exploded" and has big holes on the walls on three separate locations. The following is the tire's information: 4X4 contact Continental P225160R17 98H M+S 3ak4807 P225/60R17 98H M+S tubeless radial E7600L -10 do you have an email address I can send the photos to? thank you
