I have a 2007 Nissan Quest. I have noticed a humming sound coming from the engine. I get regular oil changes and asked the service tech to see if he could also hear the noise. He said that it sounded like it was coming from my timing chain. I took it to the nearest Nissan dealership service center and they confirmed that it was the timing chain. I was quoted $3300 to repair my vehicle. I also took my vehicle to another auto shop and two li master technicians were in complete disbelief that this was indeed the problem. My concern is that if Nissan knew about this problem before I bought the vehicle then why is it that I will now have to put $3300 into a vehicle that I still owe $15,000 on and if I trade it in I will have about $5,000 in negative equity? I bought a Nissan because I thought it would last me a long time. After we paid it off we were planning on purchasing a Nissan titan but probably not now. I am saddened and disappointed that my car is only two years old and it's parked until I can afford the repair.
