We bought our 2006 Nissan Quest with 52,457 miles in September 2014. Immediately we had a problem with Transmission seals. After three returns to the dealership that was finally repaired. However, shortly thereafter I started to have problems with the van driving. I would put the vehicle in drive and push on the gas. The RPMs would jump, but the van would go maybe 5-10 mph. I would put it in park, shift into gear slowly, and it would still do it. I put it in park, turned it off and then started it again and it would go. This happened off and on to me for a couple weeks.
I took it in and told them about the problem. They could not recreate it, so there was nothing they could do. This has been going on, off and on, since October 2014. Flash forward to today. I pull out of my driveway and switch to drive. Once again it does it. RPMs go up, van drives forward at 5-10 mph. So I pull over and put it in park and try it again. This time it won't even drive forward. I did this, in addition to turning it off and starting again for 10 minutes. Nothing. I finally had to drive it in reverse back to my house and call a tow truck.
I am still waiting for a call from the Nissan Service Center. Thank goodness we bought the extended warranty for the transmission. Now if the dealer can find the problem and fix it! I don't have a lot of miles left on the warranty. We travel for our son's baseball team and this is our main vehicle. We really can't be without it.
Update from Jun 22, 2015: Just received a call from the service provider. They cannot find a problem. It is driving fine for them, the fluids are good, nothing is out of place, no codes...I am SO FRUSTRATED with this van and this situation. They talk to me like I am making up the problem. I wish I could sell the damn thing and go back to a Pontiac or GMC.
