I have no knowledge of the mechanics but eventually found out this problem is common in this model vehicles.

I think Nissan should recall all the vehicles since this is a dangerous problem.

THIS IS PART OF MY 1ST COMPLAINT AND LIKE I SAID EARLIER,2300 DOLLARS IS WAY TOO MUCH TO COUGH OUT FOR A GENERAL PROBLEM THAT THE MANUFACTURER NEEDS TO OWN UP TO AND COMPENSATE PEOPLE THAT FIXED THIS PROBLEM BY PAYING OUT OF POCKET.

2004 Nissan Quest model 3.5 SE , 110000 miles gave up this morning while driving to office during rush hours. While merging on highway the van was loosing speed. Driving carefully i pulled over to the curb (luckily, otherwise there could have been accident). Engine Service Soon lights came on the dash-board. I was able to restart the van, however rpm were slow, and pressing on accelerator the speed was missing/ slowing down. Towed vehicle to the dealer.

This van is well maintained, all servicing was done thru the Nissan Dealer (100%).

The cost of replacing a new transmission is approximately $4000.

I was not mentally prepared to loose transmission so early at low mileage 110k - specially when vehicle is well maintained and serviced regularly. Transmission fluid was replaced at 75k mile servicing.

I see this is a common problem reported on Nissan quest 2004 and a law-suit filed. Nissan USA should accept the responsibility for this widely common problem and should bear this cost of transmission replacement, shouldn't pass on to the consumers.

I will seriously support this public-law-suit case against Nissan USA.

Update from Nov 21, 2015: I have called Nissan USA customer service 800-647-7261 on 10/24/2015 and told them about the problem and opened a case #20635659 They has assigned the case to the Regional Specialist who care least about customer safety or the pains, really horrible experience. All he said was "I am sorry not able to help, you are beyond the Nissan's warranty period - and closed the case".

I had to fix the transmission thru the dealer at a cost of $4100 out of my pocket.

I am updating this to this site (www.complainmts.com) as recommended BUT like to followup what goes next and if someone from NissanUSA, US Auto Regulatory agencies or NHTSA ever looking these issues?

Please add a column on you next page, 5th option - Its fixed out of customer's pocket, thx
