NO AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT DURING A FRONT COLLISION - A SAFETY CONCERN!! After a front collision when the front air bag should have deployed (AND DID NOT), THE LIGHT SENSOR REMAINS ON indicating that the bag was deployed. I called NISSAN headquarters, and they told me that there was a couple of re-calls for my '04 Quest including a "voluntary recall" on the air bag sensor. Followed their instructions, and took it to my local Nissan Dealer (Fort Myers), and they told me that the problem was not the sensor included in the recall instead, they charged me $90 to conduct a diagnosis to find out why the air bag deployment was still on AFTER NO DEPLOYMENT, and said that they would charge me $1,400 to replace the sensor that SHORTED OUT! during the collision FAILING TO DEPLOY THE BAG!!! This is outrageous, the vehicle clearly has manufacturer's SAFETY ISSUES. My '04 Quest van has only 63,000 miles and THE SAFETY FEATURES DON'T WORK??? I sure hope NISSAN can respond to this issue SOONEST possible before a fatality is involved DUE TO THE AIR BAGS/SENSORS FAULTY DESIGNS. HUMAN LIFE AND SAFETY IS AT STAKE HERE!!
