This is my 3rd Nissan product in succession: 1994 Quest, 1998 Pathfinder SE, 2001 Quest GXE. We've been loyal Nissan customers, d'ya think?
The 2001 Quest had a sudden scraping noise. Turns out the lower engine support arm rusted out where it meets the frame under the radiator. The entire lower radiator frame had rusted out as well. With no support from underneath, of course the engine sagged straight down. It's no longer drivable. Repair is not worth the cost and out of the question.
I'm seeing there are many other Quest owners with the same problem and I'm hearing rust is a HUGE problem on Nissan products overall. In fact, my Pathfinder was recalled for known left front shock tower rust. Nissan bought it back.
Why doesn't Nissan acknowledge and act on the problem with the Quest, too ?
That's 2 cars in a row that I've had to give up due to rust issues! And there wasn't anything else wrong with either one ! Sorry, Nissan, I'm done with you and taking my business elsewhere !
