This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
Electronic sensor/ control module for airbags has totally failed (airbag warning light flashing) after just over 6 years and less than 38750 miles of usage of the 1997 Nissan Quest gxe which was bought in March 1997. It cost about $640 in replacing the module from the Nissan dealer.
When I tried to start the car air bag light started to flash for no particular reason. Car was not in any accident. Dealer replaced air bags:sensor/control module. Since it happened without any reason, I conclude that air bag system supplied with Nissan Quest is unsafe and will not help during accident. This is a manufacturer fault, I would like to be reimbursed for the repair price ($800).
