A near death incident caused by a Qashqai vehicle.
At 100 km/hr speed the car suddenly shut down. I tried to pull over but the steering wheel locked as well as the brakes. The whole system was down. Locked in a car moving at 100 km/hr and completely helpless I only expected the worst. Luckily no one was ahead of me, the car progressively slowed down until I could finally stop it through hand breaks. I called 19055 (Nissan service agent in Egypt) after I told them what happened they told me that "sometimes" the fuel meter gives false reading and advised me to refuel the car and let them know what happened. The traffic police moved the car and I to safety. I managed to get 20 L of gas and the car indeed worked again. Called them again ravaging in anger (by that time I started processing the fact that I could have easily died in a collision or a turn). They told me "sir, you are alive and this is the most important thing. We will do necessary maintenance for free". The maintenance agent seemed to be aware of this glitch in the car and he gave advice almost immediately. I am not sure how many cars have the same issue and I don't know if someone had suffered a similar experience. I am very disappointed with the car and I have no word to describe how this incident terrified me.
