CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2017 was redesigned with new fascia and headlights, but what will be particularly interesting to watch will be the new, direct-injected V6 engine with CVT. Nissan's history with CVTs has been shaky at best.

Thursday 9/12/24 6:38 am temp 71 degrees. Driving on interstate and my 2017 Nissan Pathfinder sunroof exploded in the middle of the glass. No rocks were found. I reviewed dash cam front and rear footage and did not find any evidence of a vehicle close enough to throw a rock on the car.

While driving and going down the highway my vehicles HUD and all electronics inside the vehicle will just randomly kick out momentarily for not no more the 30seconds, but the head lights stay one and the car still runs. It kicks the cruise control off and this just started happening.

I have had so many problems with my vehicle. I have spend so much on auto repair. Latest one I took in to a local mechanic and he diagnosed it with transmission issue with a timer. It-??s hard to go from 30 to 40mph. He also looked it up and said there-??s a recall. I called my local Nissan dealer and was told my vehicle is not under the recall. Every dealers being asking me if I have transmission issues and I finally said yes trying to trade my vehicle. They mentioned Nissan has transmission issues.

Nissan is disconnecting service for Nissan Connect Service. This disables the SOS connect function. This could result in a sever crash not being reported that could complicate or hinder occupant(s)injuries. Also, it affects I-Key functions and other various data functions. Nissan Support claims it would not be a problem and the dealership, Tristate Nissan-Winchester VA 22602, stated there is nothing that can be done. Supposedly it is due to the loss of 3G telecommunications service. Other Automotive manufacturers are facing the same issue except they are are offering reprogramming to correct the issue, Honda for example.

When hitting any imperfections in the road, the Pathfinder will lose traction and steering. On the highway it is most dangerous, online it is called "the death sway" and is a known issue to consumers in the Pathfinder and Infiniti Qx80. Forums identify Bushing and bushing arms as the likely culprit. I have never been more afraid to drive a vehicle and have had others drive my vehicle to verify the issue is not caused by my driving. I contacted Nissan twice and they have informed me both times that there isn't anything they can do about

Reading forums and doing research has brought me to the conclusion that nisan is buying and has been buying faulty radiator fans for years. My wife does nothing but drive to and from work, averaging around 10K miles a year on her Pathfinder under normal driving conditions and we are being asked to replace a fan that has mysteriously just started making all kinds of noise. Not only is this a problem but it's causing consumers to spend upwards of $1000 to replace this. I have recently found a Pathfinder forum with well over 450 results related to this particular item only. Obviously, this is not covered under normal drive train warranty so this is coming out of consumer pockets. This isn't fair to me or anyone else that I have spoken to. Why would this fan just go out for no reason other than it's a faulty fan with poor workmanship associated with the product. Nissan dealerships are making a killing, $400 to $600 just in labor with all of these problems. If you all go to pathfindertalk.com and search radiator fan, you will find all of the problems associated with the fans. It's faulty, it's dangerous and should be Nissan should have to flip the bill for this in the future and maybe they will think about this before they decide to buy cheap materials again.

Loud noise started when engine was turned on and on idle. Was told that it was the radiator blade hitting something. What or why this happened the local dealer has no clue or explanation other then "it just happens on some Nissan" the cost to replace the radiator fan and shroud is about us$1000 on a car that is 39 mths old! seems this happens to enough Nissan that the dealer has seen it various times.

Cooling fan on most Nissan Pathfinder SUV's (models 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019) seems to be going bad around 36,000 miles. There has been a widespread complaint about this from other Pathfinder customers. Some customers even reported having to replace the cooling fan twice in less than 60,000 miles. Surprisingly this hasn't been recalled yet or Nissan hasn't done anything about it. The engine cooling fan assembly failed at 36,000 miles (right when warranty expires) and it sounded like rapid fire going off in the front grill. After driving a while you can smell as if something is burning under the hood and the burning smell makes it inside the passenger compartment. You cannot drive the car for too long before the burning smell starts bothering you and giving you headaches. Once the cooling fan goes bad, it also spills some short of liquid in the engine compartment which can cause the burning smell to still be around for 1-2 week even after getting the cooling fan replaced. When I took the car to Nissan service center, the lady there knew exactly what the issue was without even opening the hood. She said "yes your cooling fan has gone bad and will need replacing, we had several of these with the same issue" I mentioned to the dealership that this was a widespread issue, but they didn't do much about it. They referred me to their regional office, which I contacted and they said they aren't able to do anything unless a recall has been issues by NHTSA. Other complaints can be located on:
