Nothing has happened yet, but need to alert people about a problem that can be dangerous. I've since heard it is a problem with the Nissan Altima 2013 and 2014 as they have a new design for the power steering pump (electronic), this made a whisper sound inside of the cabin very high when you drive from 0-30 miles. They have the same unit on the 2014 Pathfinder and it is making the same noise.
This continuous sound is annoying and make the car embarrassing and you uncomfortable when you drive slowly or are in park. I took it back to the dealership to fix. After replacing the unit the noise is still there. Nissans "fix" at the moment is to essentially wrap the tube in tape to dampen the noise.
This is not acceptable and Nissan knows of the issue.
