AC STARTING TO MAKE LOUD NOISE, CALL THE DEALER BECAUSE I REMEMBER SERVICE REP GAVE PAPER ON MY CAR SHOWING THE AC WAS REPLACED. CALL THE SAME DEALER TO LET THEM KNOW THE AC WAS MAKING A LOUD NOISE AND AND NOT COOLING HE TOLD ME HE CAN'T FIND ANY REPAIR DONE TO THE AC, WHICH WAS A LIE. IF THEY COULD PULL IT UP THEN THEY CAN PULL IT UP NOW BUT THEY WANT ME TO PAY $375 FOR DIAGNOSTIC TEST WHEN THEY KNOW THE 2014 PATHFINDERS ARE HAVING AC AND TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. AND THE CAR IS SHAKING. THE AC IS ALWAYS GOING BAD. I FEEL LIKE THEY WANT YOU TO BUY THE CAR THEN BULLSHIT YOU ON FIXING ANYTHING AFTER PURCHASING THE CAR.
I have owned 4 Nissans including a 2005 Pathfinder and this one is just rusting, falling apart and just not reliable. Most of the issues popped up right after my 36k warranty expired (I have 54k on the car now). I have had to do over $5,000 in repairs (not maintenance). This included my AC Compressor and pressure switch, Hood latch (twice) that I open about 10 times per year, Bolts on Rear Calipers froze and broke (at dealer). This was after they said I needed rear pads that only had 15k on them. All Bolts that are exposed are rusting. The car can no longer be aligned as those bolts are frozen.
I bought the car from a Kelly Nissan in PA less then 6 months ago with 36,000 miles on it. It now has 43,000 miles on it and the air clunked out. I heard a clunking noise and then poof no air. The dealer says it's O ring leaks and a new compressor at the tune of $1,400. I am sick to my stomach. What does having a certified new car mean if it doesn't cover 6 months and 10,000 miles? So disillusioned!
Update from Aug 11, 2017: The problem was not the compressor. When I took the car to a trusted mechanic he discovered that it was the clutch that makes the compressor work that was bad. The magnet in the clutch had stopped working. There was a slight weeping on the compressor but it was still good. $119 in parts to fix the compressor and my air conditioner is running strong. Yay for me.
I would never trust the Kelly Dealership again. They told me it had leaks in 2 different O rings, it wasn't able hold pressure and it had zero charge. All of those things were LIES.
