Pathfinder LS 3.5L/V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 4,500 miles

My wife was driving our 2013 PATHFINDER when it stalled. The engine was running but the vehicle was not moving. My wife endured 3 hours of waiting time for the wrecker to show up for the Pathfinder to be towed back to the dealership where we bought it from. We were informed the next day by the service adviser that they saw leak under the engine and they suspected that the transmission fluid leaked. My wife questioned what the adviser told us because: 1.) There was no sign of leak when she drove out of our garage that morning and when she pulled out of the parking lot from her work. 2.) I had the Pathfinder's oil changed that same morning at the same dealership and the technician who serviced the car did not report any leaks. 3.) There was no warning light that came on before the Pathfinder stalled. Later that day my wife and I went back to check on the status of our finder and we were told that they found a crack in the radiator or radiator component that caused the coolant to leak in to the transmission. REALLY???!!! The radiator or radiator component on a 2013 Pathfinder, which we bought 2 months ago with less than 5k miles, already cracked!!! How can that happen?!!! My 2013 PATHFINDER is still in the shop waiting for the replacement parts to arrive. If the coolant leaked in to the transmission, that means the integrity of the transmission has been compromised. So, why are they replacing only the radiator? I did a research on the internet and I discovered that this similar issue existed on the 2005 - 2010 Pathfinders, Xterra and etc. In fact, there was a class action suit related to this incident. One thing I don't understand is why didn't they initiate a recall? The NHTSA should have done a better job and pressuring Nissan in initiating a recall. They were saying that this is not a safety related issue? Really??? Your vehicle stalls in the middle of the road endangering motorists is not a safety issue?!!! How dumb can that be?

At this point I don't feel confident drivng my 2013 pathfinder. I won't have peace of mind driving it knowing that there is a defective part on my vehicle. My wife and I are very disappointed and I wish I did a thorough research before I purchased my 2013 Pathfinder.
