I've gone through 4 batteries in the past 3 years. Different brands, too. My first battery worked fine for 5 years and never died on me. Took it to a mechanic who couldn't find anything wrong. I finally discovered part of the problem was probably due to a short in the door lock mechanism. If I use the key fob to lock the doors, the battery goes dead within 12 hours. If I don't use the key fob, the battery is ok (at least for a few days). If I leave the car sitting a cold week, the battery dies anyway.
It worked fine six days ago and today the weather turned cold and it's dead again. Didn't use the fob to lock the door either. Love my Pathfinder except for this. Pain in my **s to keep having to recharge it all the time and then finding it dead again a week later. I'm told by two mechanics the alternator is fine. The battery has plenty of fluid and the posts are free of corrosion. Makes me want to scream!!! Any ideas out there?
Update from Oct 19, 2021: After a good cleaning of the post and recharge, I went to start it again after a week and it was dead again.
