WAS TOLD BY NISSAN THAT COOLANT HAS MIXED WITH TRANSMISSION FLUID. WAS GONNA COST 6,000.00 TO REPAIR. RESEARCHING THIS PROBLEM AND FOUND THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THESE TRUCKS. NO RECALLS AT ALL!!! THERE SHOULD BE. UNDER 100,000 MILES THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN. NOT ON A NISSAN AT THAT. I HAVE BEEN IN AUTO REPAIR FOR OVER 20YRS AND WOULD EXPECT THIS ON A GM, FORD, OR DODGE BUT NOT A NISSAN. HAVE BEEN TOLD BY 3 DIFFERENT TRANSMISSION SHOPS THAT NISSAN HAS TRIED TO COVER UP THIS ISSUE IN HOPES THAT IT WOULD NOT BECOME A ISSUE WITH CONSUMERS AND BECOME A RECALL. I HAVE ALSO FOUND WHERE SEVERAL HAVE BEEN REPAIRED AT NO CHARGE DUE TO SOME HAVING AN EXTENDED WARRANTY ADDED FROM THE MANUFACTURER. I FEEL THIS IS BS. TRUCK WAS BROUGHT IN FOR A NO START ISSUE WITH THE INTELLIGENT KEYS. DEALER TRIED TO TELL ME THAT WATER IN TRANSMISSION WAS CAUSE OF THE NO START. I HATE TO TELL YA BUT THIS HAS NOTHING DO WITH COOLANT IN A TRANSMISSION CAUSING THE VEHICLE NOT TO START. NISSAN NEEDS TO GET THEIR SH*T TOGETHER!!

I have a 2011 nissan pathfinder. Come to find out this morning the dealership says that my transmission needs replacing. Hard to believe but as I do research I see this is a common problem. They wanted to charge 7k for a new transmission but didn't even tell me this was a normal problem. They acted as shocked as I was. They were not very nice when I decided to take it somewhere else. We now are waiting to see what's it's going to cost to repair this thing that could have been prevented.

Pathfinder S V6 4.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 15,000 miles

Nissan sent me to hell with its transmission failure. I just bought a fairly new 2011 pathfinder with only 15000 miles only a week ago, the transmission already failed. Luckily, it is still under 60000 mile warranty but I don't have a car for more than 1 week now. The dealer told me that they are putting a refurbished transmission (hell no) into my car after I paid $20000 for the car a week ago. I feel shock. How could a Japanese car failed at 15k miles. This must be a joke. Nissan really slapped hardly in the face of the Japanese car manufactures. The next car I shop will be a Korean car might be. Please tell other people not to buy Nissan product.
