CarComplaints.com Notes: There are no warning signs of the same "radiator leaked and killed my transmission" complaints that have plagued previous model years.
For earlier Pathfinder model years (2005-2008), a defect in the radiator allows engine coolant to leak into the transmission. However this defect doesn't appear to affect Pathfinders from 2009 & later. Nissan did include the 2009-2010 models when they extended their radiator warranty on 2005-2010 Pathfinders to 8 years/80,000 miles in response to the transmission defect.

my 5yr old boy snapped the door handle off my 2009 pathfinder...... The new car warranty doesn't count despite the car only doing 40000 kms. It apparently sat in a car yard for 18 months chewing up warranty..... Nissan Australia rang me and told me its not worth their time on this old car, and its only a door handle $160 for a new one that's black,(my car is silver). Because of the door handle being broken, now the inside door handle broke, which the cable to fix that is $400..... Just for the parts....... My 3 yr old broke that........
I want to buy a tonka toy, because my kids can't break that..... I do not ever want to buy a Nissan again my 3yr old and 5 yr old are destroying it.
I took my car to a dealership who took photos for the car to be assessed (i thought it was still under warranty). They told me they will ring me in 3 days....... 3 weeks later I rang them..... They told me it had been approved but the handle needed to be painted.... They took my number and said they will call me..... Another 3 weeks go by, and my 3 yr old broke the inside handle.... I rang them up and they said they have the parts, and to bring it in on monday to be fixed........ My wife dropped the car off at 9 am (with 2 little kids in tow) she had organized for someone to pick her and the kids up..... They said it would be 2 hrs...... At 11am my wife rang to see if she could pick the car up. They informed her the warranty had expired and they could fix the car and it would cost $800, but they couldnt do it today because the handle had not been painted, they also do not even have the cable to fix the interior latch in the country!!!!
I have complained and was told basically to get stuffed they are not fixing it......
I WISH TO APPLAUD NISSAN AUSTRALIA FOR THEIR SERVICE!!! I don't think I have ever been treated so badly EVER!!!!!!
