CarComplaints.com Notes: While there are fewer "radiator leaked into transmission" complaints for the 2008 model year, they are starting to pile up. Buyer beware.
Nissan has extended their radiator warranty on 2005-2010 Pathfinders to 8 years/80,000 miles. However the average mileage for transmission failure for earlier model years is 95,000 miles, which conveniently (for Nissan) is just past the limit of their extended warranty. Owners beware.
I got this Pathfinder from a local dealer and an year after its gas gauge has failed. When I fill it with gas the gas gauge shows zero and has warning lights. One evening I was on a interstate highway several miles from home with my entire family then it stalled. Before I could realize it was gas shortage I had been towed and escorted by police 2 hours after. I now asked a local mechanic who told me it needs over $500 to fix and that its a common problem with Nissan Pathfinder.
Ok so my check engine light is always on and the most recent thing that has happened is that my fuel gauge keeps reading that is on empty when in fact it has gas! I have four kids and drive them all over for school and other activities and often worry if I am really almost out of gas or not! Please help with this problem I can't afford a new car.
My 2008 Pathfinder fuel gauge just stop working and the dealer said it would cost $800.00 to fix the problem. I found out this has been a problem for this year. I heard a recall was called on some Pathfinders I just found out and I will be calling Nissan tomorrow.
