We have had this problem since the beginning, locking steering column with the occasional no start up on the engine, dead as a doornail. This past week we have had weather in the -37C to -17C range, my wife called in an emergency after her dog walk being stuck in remote part of the city because of this problem. The ignition would not start along with locked the steering column and her phone was about to die. At this time a blizzard had kicked up with winds 75km and temp at -35C, she was lucky that I had answered to help her out because her only choice other than freeze, was to walk to the nearest intersection about 2 km away.
Thank you Nissan Canada for taking care of your owners, by not calling this a recall as there are many who think it should be done. I have a suggestion, lets get your pussy-footed recall department to endure these temperatures with possible frost bite. Then you can understand what your customers feel daily like this example, and then make your decision in the cold to recall or no recall, because the experience is really part of your vehicle that you built.
