After a number of years of great driving (if you discount the poor fuel ecconomy and sad service standard from Nissan) I lost control of the stereo from the steering wheel buttons and NEXT the air bag warning light on the dash started flashing.
I have the late 2006 model that had upgrades fitted to it before delivery that gave me the 6 stacker CD and the better stereo, along with some other modifications that became standard on the 2007 model.
(The problem has continued to grow - first the stereo control buttons on the steering wheel, then air bag warning light started flashing, then buttons to control the display and tripmeters went next, then the cruise control buttons, and now the horn won't work.
Update from Aug 10, 2014: I used the link ont he home page to chat with a Nissan expert on line - he diagnosed my problem as a faulty Clock Spring (also known as a Spiral Cable).
My local dealer confirmed the diagnosis and completed the repairs for just under AU$500.
