I find it annoying that there is a recal on several other vehicles for the same problem but the Pathfinder was left off the list and I end up footing the bill for the same problem. After it gets fixed I now seem to have dropped my MPG from ~19 to ~13 and am trying to root cause that issue which was only noticed after fixing the sensor problem. It is related to the work down to fix that issue or is it related to the new evaporator vent tube recall? Don't know but annoyed I'm now pouring more money into the vehicle.

First of all let me say" Nissan Canada you have lost a lifetime customer". There was a recall on the books but it excluded my 2006 Pathfinder. After spending many wasted days trying to get Nissan Canada to pay for the fix it was a complete turn down. Don't these people realize that my $5500 repair 2013 & the original purchase and maintenance of this SUV pays their salary which allows them to be an employee for the company.

So I ask what will a lifetime ban of any Nissan products do to your future business when my kids & their kids follow my ban ....... Answer, you become like all the others who are scratching at the surface to stay in business. Prior to this nightmare with Nissan Canada we were looking at purchasing a second vehicle, the Rouge, not anymore with Nissan.You heard the saying "what goes around comes around again this time with momentum

Some 2006 models were recalled but I'm told mine isn't included---my problem is obviously mine should of been because I have the problem that a recall was issued for. The ECM relay (brains of the car) is recalled and will be fixed and the fuel level sensor sends sends signals to the ECM relay (so I read) so is this somehow connected? I guess all N all I'm pissed that my problem isn't under the recall but other 2006 models are but I have the problem that a recall was issued for. Thanks for listening. I purchased a Nissan Pathfinder in May of 2010... I have owned this vehicle for almost three years. I received my recall and because my truck didn't show signs of needing the recall until 1/14/2013. I brought my truck into my normal place of service (Nissan Dealership) they never corrected it and I was still denied reimbursement!!! I was told because the 72 month period had expired. My truck is a 2006 and is way under 72, 000 (62, 200) and Nissan still won't honor the recall. I will never purchase another Nissan/Infinity as long as I live. Nissan is not honorable like I once thought they were!

The fuel sensor on my 2006 Pathfinder had gone bad. I had to gauge how much fuel I had left by resetting my mile counter each time I fueled up. I knew a recall was being sent out on this issue, and I was awaiting my notice in the mail. Why pay for it when it's being recalled, right? Well the deadline had passed, and no recall notice. My inspection was due to be up and obviously, you won't pass inspection in PA with a fuel gauge not working. So I called Nissan to find out where my recall notice was. Get this-since my VIN number wasn't included within the span of VIN numbers included with the recall, they were not going to honor a recall on my car. WHAT??? Nissan informed me to go to the dealership, pay $85 for a diagnostic test so it can be on file with Nissan. Nissan stated they would probably extend the recall since they have had so many other customers with the same issue-VIN not included within the span. I told Nissan I was not paying for a diagnostic test when I knew exactly what was wrong and I found it insulting that such a thing be asked.

So, needless to say, I had to have the issue repaired just to have my car pass inspection. My husband went to the Nissan dealership and paid for the part-$150.00 for a sending unit that is smaller that your cell phone! Then we had to pay our mechanic another $120 or so to drop the gas tank to replace the unit. I know $300 isn't alot compared to other repairs, but it is the principle of the whole ordeal. Almost 9 months after the repair, I get a letter on 12/06/2010 in reference to the fuel sending unit. Nissan did not extend the recall, instead, they extended the warranty to cover this issue! This must be their way of covering their asses??? It's my understanding that recall notices need to filed legally or with the NHTHA, which makes them public knowledge. To mask this extension of a recall and reduce the risk of embarrassment, Nissan then develops the Assist Program. REALLY?? No, the fuel sending unit will not put passengers lives at risk, but why even have the initial recall in the first place? Then to not extend it? I had another issue with my Pathfinder with the radiator leaking into the transmission. Another Assist Program resolution when it should have been a recall.
