CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2005-2007 Pathfinder appears to have a widespread defect where coolant leaks into the transmission, causing transmission failure around 90,000 miles. Repair costs are typically upwards of $3,500.
According to the New York Times & a class action lawsuit, the defect actually extends through 2010 model year. More info here.
When traveling with the cruise control on, it is very difficult to engage the brakes. It's like the cruise control doesn't disengage the instant the brakes are applied, as one would expect or need in an emergency stop. Even when I slam on the brakes, there is a hesitation before deceleration begins.
This could easily cause an accident if someone suddenly swerved in front of me.
