CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2005-2007 Pathfinder appears to have a widespread defect where coolant leaks into the transmission, causing transmission failure around 90,000 miles. Repair costs are typically upwards of $3,500.
According to the New York Times & a class action lawsuit, the defect actually extends through 2010 model year. More info here.
My 2005 Nissan Pathfinder started stopping in the middle of the road while on low speed. This is the third time it has stopped. I am about so take it to auto mechanic now.
Update from Apr 29, 2015: I have been so frustrated with my Nissan 2005 Pathfinder that I had to trade-in the car for merely $6,500! I barely use the car! The millage on it at time of sales Nov. 2014 was under 98,000 for a 9 years old car. Nissan is a fraud.
I have a 2005 Pathfinder 2.5 Auto, I have been searching the net for a possible explanation of the very annoying, and dangerous, 'cutting out' it keeps doing. On low revs it just cuts out, e.g stopped at lights, turning corners or parking. Cant find anything on UK websites just all the complaints on this site! Am now dreading having to get it sorted. Glad I saw this site though, now I know its a common problem with 2005 Pathfinders that Nissan should own up to (not a chance)!
Cheers guys!
