My son was turning right out of a gas station when the accelator stuck on our 1995 Nissan Pathfinder. He veered back into the parking lot of the station to try and gain control however there was a cement pole in his path and he jerked the wheel to the left to avoid hitting the pole headon. The Pathfinder flipped several times and landed on the opposite side of the street facing the other direction. I have spoken with two other people that own a Nissan Pathfinder who has had their accelarator stick. The vehicle was wrecked on all sides and not a single airbag inflated. Witnesses on the scene reported that the wheels on the SUV were still turning at a rapid pace even when the vehicle was on its side. The sheriff investigating the accident concluded that it was a mechanical failure that caused the accident.
