excessive tire wear on the outer rim on all the tires, but worse on the rear tires. Nissan Dealer reports that the wheel alignments and toe-in all within specs and suggested that not enough attention is being paid to the tire pressures - one representative suggesting the problem is caused by over pressure and another representative from the same dealership suggesting the problem is caused by under pressure...! The dealership will not admit liability and now the second set of tires is also showing abnormal wear in the same areas after about 12000 miles and will need to be replaced soon.

this factor together with the outrageous servicing costs has unfortunately resulted in my desire to rid myself of this vehicle as soon as the guarantee expires.

This NV 200 van which is misrepresented as a commercial van cannot handle commercial transportation needs. Tires wear extremely prematurely. You can only purchase 1 brand of tire which is only sold by the dealer at $700 a pop. The photos I submitted are tires purchased under 6 months ago. These tires were worn after 4 months but at $700 and one tire option offered that can be purchased through the dealer only, it is a pain in the ass to keep tires with any tread on this vehicle.

Once the tires start wearing they make a roaring and loud bumping sound, as well as a wha wha wha wha wha sound and you can't keep the dang thing between the lines and on the road with these raw tires. It's a danger trap!! It costs me money every day because I do not have a dependable and reliable way to get from place to place for my business. I am in commercial refrigeration so I am not carrying a huge load in the back of the van. I have practically emptied the van to try to prevent the tire wear, it makes no difference!

I regret purchasing this van for commercial use. Nissan needs to figure out the issue and fix these problems for their customers! Bigger, more sturdy tires might be a good start! Only 1 brand and type of tire can be used??!! Seriously!! Nissan suggests rotating the tires every month to prevent the tire wear, I am a busy business owner and I don't have time for this crap! I should have been told about these problems before I bought the van.

To add insult to injury Nissan is not willing to acknowledge there are tire issues so they won't fix the issue but they will blame the problem on you. I bought this vehicle brand new, never have I been this disappointed and frustrated with a brand new vehicle. Bad business Nissan, Bad business!! Develop a commercial van that meets the needs of a commercial business! If you can't play with the big dogs, get off the porch!!!

TIRES ARE WEARING IN THE BACK. THEY ARE WEARING UNEVEN SOMETIMES ONLY ON THE INSIDE SO YOU HAVE TO REALLY LOOK AT THE TIRE TO MAKE SURE THE WIRES ARE NOT POPPING OUT ON THE INSIDE OF THE TIRE. SOMETIMES TIRES HAVE WARE SPOTS IN RANDOM PLACES.

SAD THING ABOUT THIS IS WHEN THE BODY STYLE CHANGED ON THE Honda CIVIC I HAD PURCHASED ONE AND THIS SAME THING HAPPEN WITH THOSE TIRES ALSO. HONDA WAS IN DENIAL FOR YEARS AND FINALLY OWNED UP TO THE PROBLEM. THE CAR WAS A GREAT CAR OVER 300,000 I HAVE SOLD THE CAR BUT IT STILL RUNS GREAT.

Tires are crap, uneven tread wear, spot balding, wire's showing.

I am a company manager for a CCTV/Burglar Alarm Installation company. We purchased 3 of the NV200 vans 1 year ago. Two of the three vans have a few more highway miles than the third. I just had to replace 2 of the rear tires on the first van at around 23,700, the second one is in need of 3 at 26,400 (which is past due, wire already showing on 1 tire). Who is going to buy just 3 tires though, right? The third is only currently at 16,200 so I am good for the moment on them but can already notice the wear on those as well.

Calling around almost no one can get these tires. Nissan is trying to stick everyone by making them purchase these tires directly from them. Yet luckily there is one tire shop (Malnar Tire Mart, Tickfaw, LA.) that was able to get me these tires other than the dealer. At $640 for the set installed, downfall is it's still the same damn tire, I'll be back in a year for another set. Do we just bite the bullet and buy new wheels so we can buy a different size tire at a better price that will last twice as long?

Nissan, you have made a poor decision with the tires on your NV200. Keep in mind, it is some of the smaller guys that are purchasing your vehicles for service solutions and they can't necessarily afford to replace tires once a year.

After only 22k miles the rear tires are the shape of stop signs, flat spots, cupping, etc. The front tires are worn down to almost no tread. Okay, seems a little premature but, oh well, looks like new tires needed for me. Wait, not so fast, I go to my local tire dealer and he says he can't get the tires. I call my local Nissan dealer and he tells me I can only get them through Nissan for almost $200 per tire installed. I do more research and find that there are plenty of different manufacturers that make the 185/60/15 however, they are not the 185/60/15c that is required for this vehicles weight and for liability reasons they won't install them. This van is used for light duty, this is crazy that there are no other company's selling this tire. I should have waited for the long wheel base Ford to come out. I will not buy another Nissan van unless they get this resolved.

Update from Oct 23, 2014: Here is an update to what I decided to do. After hours of research, I found that the Wheels/Rims off the 2010-2013 Nissan Rogue (16 inch rims) fit the bolt pattern of my 2013 Nissan NV200. I found them on Craigslist for $200 for 4. I then found Continental Vanco 2 tires 215/65/r16 C on treadepot.com for $153.00/each. They are also on tirerack.com for $158.00/each. These are rated C tires which you need for the Nissan NV200. I had them insalled for $25/per tire. So for $1000.00 I have better looking larger tires. Also note that these must be inflated to 45-50 PSI so the tire sensors won't say check tire pressure.

After reading through the 5 complaints with the NV200, I decided to put my 2 cents in. It started out that the tires on this van are terrible in the snow. I wanted snow tires so I started researching online. After finding out that this van is a load range "c" tire, apparently nobody carried this commercial tire in this size (185/60R15C).

Then I did even more research and found out that nobody carried the regular replacement tire for this size and load rating EXCEPT for NISSAN. Looking through tirerack.com, a typical "b" range tire is under $100 and that's for Michelin! Nissan wants approx. $200 EACH for this sub par and all around crappy tire.

After arguing with the parts guy to no avail to discount the pricing since it is so far out of whack compared to similar tires, I looked deeper into the maker of the tires and found out that some Indian company bought out a Mexican Company that manufactures these OEM tires. JK Tyre and Tornel Tyre merged into JK Tornel and made this America Cargo tyre. This is as far from American as I can see..... Found a contact in Michigan that worked for JK Tornel Tyre named Rob who was nice and tried to help get these tires out to more distributors and big tire warehouses but nobody would buy into it. Try calling them at 877-755-8973 and see if you can get any further. That is their customer service line.

So all of us with these vans are stuck with these tires that Nissan is PRICE GOUGING us on unless other tire manufacturers start making this size in this load range. Until this happens, screw Nissan Motor Corp. I will be putting on the load range B tires from TireRack.com (hoping that they hold up) and not giving this company the satisfaction of taking my money!!!

I was at the dealer yesterday and they could not believe the condition of the tires on my NV200. There are not even 17,000 miles on this mini cargo van, mostly all highway driving.

The dealer informed me that my tires must be replaced ASAP. There are cords showing on the rear tires and they are all lumpy and cut-up and the front tires hardly have any tread left. Then the dealer explained that the ONLY place to get these tires if from Nissan!

This is a totally ridiculous spot for a major auto manufacturer to put their customers in!!! When the dealer sold me this van in January they didn't tell me I would have to spend an extra $800 dollars before my first year of ownership for a car part that should last at least 30,000 miles. As a matter of fact, I may have to purchase another set at 34,000 miles. According to my math, that is an added operating cost of almost 5 cents a mile! OH boy, doesn't that cut down on the amount of money I thought I would be saving on fuel.

Nissan needs to 'get real' and either offer this proprietary tire at a substantially reduced replacement cost, or recall the vehicle and install a real wheel and tire combination at their expense. They should do this right away, or maybe they would prefer testifying in court after there are some blow outs and innocent people are severely injured or killed because of their poor engineering and negligence.

I will be having the new tires installed at my dealer this coming week. I can't risk being in an accident because of Nissans mistakes. HEY NISSAN, CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW!

Never thought that I would feel as if a major car manufacturer was ripping me off .... until now. I purchased my NV200 about 8 months ago. Now at 19K the tires are completely worn out and yes they have been rotated correctly. So I start searching for tires and find that the ONLY place in the whole US to get tires for this vehicle is a NISSAN DEALER. If this wasn't bad enough - how many tire types / prices are there to choose from ..... ONE.The list on the tires with mounting was approx 175.00 per tire. So doing the math every 18K you are going to go back to the dealer and spend $700.00 to get a set of micro euro tires. I certainly didn't consider this added expense when I did the calculations on a mini tin can vs a full size van - certainly would have changed my end results I think. Do NOT BUY one of these vans until Nissan either lowers the price of their proprietary tires or someone in the marketplace comes up with A) a tire that lasts longer than 18K or B) a much lower cost tire. What a true rip off of the consumer.

Lousy Lousy tires on Nissan NV 200. They wore out at 15000 miles, tires almost bald. We don't really carry that much weight (mostly garments) I have two of these now and was going to get a fleet of these but now really stepping back and possibly will lean towards the ford.

Tires are super expensive to replace and they wear out so quickly. Both my vans are seeing this and I can't seem to find easy replacement except to get ripped off by the Nissan dealership. It's sad to see, I wouldn't recommend this VAN at this point till the tires become more affordable.

I purchased this vehicle new in July of 2013. It has almost 69,000 miles and I am on my third set of tires due to poor tire wear. There is only one company (American Cargo) that makes tires (185 60 R15C 94T) that meet the size and load bearing capacity requirements for the NV200. These tires are poor quality and they can only be purchased from a Nissan dealership. A set of these tires costs $171 per tire plus tax which is expensive for tires that only get about 20,000 miles.

This vehicle is built and sold as a service vehicle and I put a lot of miles on it in a year, the expense of new tires three to four times a year is crazy! Although Nissan does not recommend it they told me that I could put tires on that have a lower load bearing capacity if I am not carrying 1500 lbs of cargo. I was able to get a set of Michelin Defenders (185 60 15 88T) put on but the max pressure for those tires is 35 lbs. The tire pressure sensors in the NV200 are set at 44-48 lbs for the American Cargo tires so my tire pressure alert was constantly on which covered up my odometer. When I spoke to the Nissan service department about this they said that the tire pressure sensors can't be reset because of federal regulations. The Michelin tires did wear better but now I have not been able to find someone who can put them on again because of liability issues.

I have contacted the dealership repeatedly about this issue and have received virtually no help. Since you can only buy these tires from a Nissan dealership I think a discount on them would be appropriate because I will have to buy so many sets per year. Although I like everything else about the vehicle if I had known about these tire issues I would have purchased a different vehicle.
