We purchased the 2018 Murano platinum on Oct-13-2018 from Cochran Nissan (7 River Heights Dr, Cochrane, AB T4C 0N8).
The accident happened on Friday Dec-27-2019 around 3:00 pm on Crowchild Tr near University of Calgary. I was driving with my 6 year old son on board when all of a sudden there was very loud explosion sound. I was so shocked that I lost control of the car for a short period time. Luckily, no car was around me which also means no road debris present.
I took photos of inside and outside the sunroof window around 3:45 pm (see attached pics) showing the glass was shattered into small pieces. On 30-Dec-2019 Brasso Nissan Ltd (195 Glendeer Cir SE, Calgary, AB T2H 2S8) let me know sunroof glass is not covered and would like to replace the glass for $1,500 CAD. I contacted Nissan Canada and they asked me to go back to dealer or my insurance company.
I don't think my insurance company cares when a defective accident occurred, plus my policy deductible is $2,000. It's very unfair to ask the customer to pay the bill for a potential manufacture defect with the tempered glass.
