air bags did not deploy did not have seat belts on hit other car in the passenger side front quarter panel

both vehicles were towed called nissan of north america and talked with curt to let them know that the air bags did not deploy. He asked me if I was wearing my seat belt I told him no. He then told me that the air bags would not deploy unless I had my seat belt fastened. I had never heard of such a thing so I did some research and found out He was not telling me the truth. I found out that Nissan uses Takata air bags the one that has all the recalls even thou the 2012 Murano is not on the list yet. I do not feel safe in this car. I have had 2 Muranos and like the Nissan product until Nissan can assure me that the air bag problem has been fixed I will not get another Nissan nor could I recommend Nissan to anybody.
